Giants are calling on top perspective Bryce Eldridge while they hunt for Mets in Wild-Card Race

The Mets hold on to the last NL Wild-Card place through a thread and one of the teams approaching them calls in reinforcements.

On Monday, the San Francisco Giants top perspective Bryce Eldridge, the No. 13 Prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline.

A 20-year-old Outfielder, Eldridge cut .249/.322/.514 with 18 gays and 63 RBIs over 66 games with Triple-A Sacramento this season.

The first round of the club was called up in 2023 after Giants first Honkman Dominic Smith landed on the IL with a hamstring tribe during the weekend.

Eldridge debuted on Monday evening and hit 0-out-3 with a strikeout like the designated batter in the 8-1 loss of San Francisco for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The victory brought the diamondbacks within 1 1/2 games of the Mets, with the Giants and Reds both two games behind the last NL play -off place.

Despite their shocking acquisition of All-Star Slugger Rafael Devers in June, the Giants were already far from the Playoff race on August 22 and seven games were under .500 and 7.5 games from a play-off place.

They then went on a recent 14-7 run to start the conversation.



The Amazin’s, who have been everything since mid -June, are partly responsible for the recent burst of the Giants.

The Mets struck a deal with the Giants on the Trade Deadline and acquire right -handed Reliever Tyler Rogers for Righty Jose Butto, Pitching Prospect Blake Tidwell and Outfield Prospect Drew Gilbert.

Rogers has been a solid addition to the bullpen of the Mets and placed a 2.14 ERA over 21 innings.

However, Gilbert has returned from a slow start and touches .302 with a .945 Ops in his last 15 matches of new life into the rising giant attack just in time for a last-minute postseason-push.

The pressure continues to assemble for the Mets (77-73), which recently passed a Losing Streak of eight games, while the Rival Philadelphia Phillies achieved the NL East on Monday evening.

However, the Giants have lost three straight and four of the five.
