Georges Niang may have said the calm part of his jazz future

Although the Utah Jazz broke up with some of their best veterans this season, they also acquired a few, although it is still too seen whether someone is considered long -term competitions with the team. Chances are that Jusuf Nurkic and Kevin Love will not be with the team next year, but Georges Niang is a different story. His sentiment on Jazz Media Day seems to indicate that this will not be a rental home.

Niang left Utah to chase a payment day with Philadelphia, and since then he has only been paid more because he has claimed more as one of the best snipers in the NBA. His appreciation for Utah as a whole, in combination with the jazz who brought him back when they did not have to speak volumes for their long -term partnership.

Re -signing Niang should not be much of a problem for Utah

There may be some concern about signing a veteran like Niang for a young team like Jazz. Fortunately, Utah will have more than enough cap-flexibility in the long term to make it work.

Utah will see a lot of money from the books after this season is over. The trio of Nurkic, Love and Niang, together with Kyle Anderson’s non-godaded contract, should open a lot of cap-space for jazz. Kessler will sign their first priority again, but there must still be enough left to bring Niang back comfortably.

Now they must of course be modest about it. It is not necessary to give Niang more than what he is worth. Over the years he has proven his value, and it has given him a payment day that he certainly deserved. Jazz must try to keep him around the price tag of what he is being paid this season – $ 8.2 million.

Utah also has to think about the other young players who want a new contract. In 2027 they have to think about who they want to keep between Keyonte George, Brice Sensabaugh and Taylor Hendricks. As long as the Niang deal is both modest and not too long, it should not be a problem.

Because Utah brought him back when they could have waited until next year and Niang says that Utah is his home, there is little reason for both parties to make this a long -term obligation.
