Italy activists of Dieren Shares were in the early afternoon of Thursday 20 March before the offices of the Pandora brand with megaphones and billboards in hand. The group protests against Ahold Delhaize, a large retailers gigantically active around the world with different brands. “Ahold Delhaize had promised to say enough to the cages for chickens and sowing. Promised. But never saved,” the activists explain. “Ahold Delhaize has no stores in Italy. But our message is still coming strong and clear”. But what does Pandora have to do with it?
Because veterinarians protest
The connection point is Jan Zijderveld, a member of both the Board of Directors of Ahold Delhaize and that of Pandora. “He can change everything. But so far he has chosen the silence. We don’t accept it. And we will not stop, here in Italy and all over the world, until this betrayed promise is kept,” the demonstrators continue. “Companies like Aold Delhaize do their share. We turn to all companies in Europe that are connected to the group, including Pandora. We ask Pandora to take a position to ask him to take Party of the Animals or possibly remove it”.
The choirs for the store
The activists then moved for a Pandora store. They positioned themselves with the billboards with the images of animals in a cage on the farms and with those who depict Zijderveld. At the megaphone they shouted “shame”, while the shopping assistants stopped waiting for the protest to end. Currently, the protest has not yet been completed and the animal rights activists could choose to move for other brand stores.
