1 minute, 45 seconds Read

After winning nine consecutive games against NL East, the Brewers built an impressive lead in the NL Central, as well as in baseball as a whole. Nowadays they start a series of three games against the Pirates, which is also the start of 11 straight matches against NL Central opponents.

Jose Quintana will open the series for the Brewers. His results have not been the best since the All-Star Break, but he is reliable five to six innings in each start. In his last start on Wednesday against the Braves, he threw in the seventh inning and allowed three points on seven hits with seven strikeouts. This is his first start against the Pirates this season. He has a career 3.23 ERA in 15 earlier starts for 78 innings work.

On the other hand, Andrew Heaney starts for the Pirates. Heaney had a good start to the season, but he has struggled in recent months. The Bewers stood against him on 24 June in Pittsburgh and scored seven points of him in four plus innings. Since then, Heaney has made three starts to allow zero or one runs, but also has four starts where he allowed three or more points. He is only thrown through the fifth inning in one of his last six starts. In general, he has an ERA of 4.77 and 5.33 FIP this season.

Brice Turang is back at the Leadoff spot for the first time in a week. In the past week he hits .316/.381/.684 with two home runs, five RBIs and two steals. Isaac Collins and William Contreras hit second and third, and Christian Yelich is back in the setup fourth after a day off. Andrew Vaughn, Caleb Durbin and Sal Frelick hit fifth to seventh. Brandon Lockkridge gets a second consecutive start, although he goes to midfield. Joey Ortiz is ninth to complete the line -up.

Tonight’s game is available on Fanduel Sports Wisconsin, as well as MLB network (only outside the market). It is also on MLB.TV (only outside the market) and on the Brewers radio network. The first pitch is set before 6:40 PM CT.
