Game report: Warriors rolls past Saint Anselm for the first victory

The Warriors opened their home lei in a emphatic way and defeated Saint Anselm 31-6 on Saturday afternoon in Duane Stadium.

The win EVS Merrimack’s record on 1-1. The Warriors will now focus their attention on the journey to the south of next week, where a more difficult test is waiting for Kennesaw State. The owls will be Merrimack’s second FBS opponent of the season. They are still looking for their first victory of the season (0-2). The Warriors wasted no time to get control of the game, and to be honest, despite the 25-point margin, the game never felt as close as the scoreboard suggests-that feels strange to say about a margin of 20+ points, but it is true.

Merrimack owned the first half from start to finish. The Hawks scraped only one first and went three and four of their five possessions. In total they only gathered 17 meters on 18 plays, while the Warriors dictated the pace by holding the ball for 22 of the opening of the game for 30 minutes.
