#3 Terriers will host Colgate for a two-game series at Agganis Arena starting tonight. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM for the game, which will be streamed live on ESPN+.

BU and Red Raiders last met nine years ago this week (October 8, 2016) in Hamilton, NY, with the Terriers earning a convincing 6-1 victory in which
Clayton Keller scored his first collegiate goal. Colgate’s only visit to
Agganis Arena was a year earlier (November 29, 2014) with a couple Evan Rodrigues
goals and three Matt Grzelcyk helps bring about a 5-2 victory.

After last weekend’s win against LIU, which Coach Jay Parolfo recognized”wasn’t the prettiest game you’ll see“That will be terriers “Trying to figure out how to play and the consistency that comes with that.” BU will also try to avoid joining the wave of unrest among the top-ranked schools on Thursday night. #1 Western Michigan, #2 Penn State and #4 Michigan State all lost on home ice to unranked teams.

In his weekly media call, Pandolfo confirmed that freshmen Conrad Fondrk And
Carter friend will return to the line-up. Fondrk is expected to skate at the senior center Owen McLaughlin and junior Jack Harvey. Sophomore Sacha Boisvert, who left Sunday’s game with an upper-body injury will be a game-day decision. He has been skating in practice and Pandolfo expects him to adjust well.

The Cole Eiserman-Boisvert-Ryder Ritchie line showed good chemistry against LIU, “and did most of the damage on the power play,” Pandolfo noted.

Colgate, which finished third in the ECAC last season, was hit hard by graduation, losing three of its top four defensemen and five of its top seven scorers. College Hockey Insider ranks the Red Raiders at No. 38 in the preseason rankings.

Three underclassmen are expected to power the offense: Max Nagel
(24 points), Jake Schneider (15) and Niko Rexine (15). Senior Daniel Panetta is the top returning goalscorer with 10. Colgate’s defense will depend on ECAC Rookie of the Year Michael Neumeier (20 points) and fellow sophomores Brett Merner (9).

Senior netminder Andreas Takacs posted a 2.77 GAA and .903 save percentage in 32 games last season. For more information about Colgate, visit the College Hockey News ECAC Preview.
