Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young will make his return on Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets ESPN’s Shams Charania. Thursday will be Young’s first game since going down with a right MCL sprain on Oct. 29.

Young was a full participant in practice on Wednesday, his second practice back with the Hawks after battling with their G League affiliate earlier in the week.

β€œIt’s my knee, something that took a little more time than some of the other injuries… I’m feeling good,” Young said Tuesday, via ESPN. β€œ[My conditioning is] gets better as you play. They wouldn’t even allow me to come back or even about to come back if my conditioning wasn’t good or close to it.”

Young suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee during the team’s win against the Brooklyn Nets on October 29, and has not played since. That was only the team’s fifth game of the year. The Hawks have gone 13-9 without him in the 22 games he has missed.

Young averaged 24.2 points and a career-high 11.6 assists per game, leading the league last season, while earning his fourth All-Star nod. The 27-year-old will be in the fourth year of a five-year, $215 deal with the Hawks this fall. He was eligible for a four-year extension, but a deal wasn’t done in time for training camp.

The Hawks will start the game on Wednesday North Carolina with a record of 15-12. The team hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2023 campaign.

β€œWe’re trying to win,” Young said. β€œFor me, it’s exciting to have those guys, more voices that know what it takes to win at a high level, but also just play a role at a high level… myself included. I have to play my part in helping our team win.”

Board the black pearl tonight. I hate blackouts.

I can’t get the game to load via prime with a fanduel. What’s going on?

sometimes it takes me 5-10 minutes to load (I’m not exaggerating!) Lately it’s been loading quickly during pregame, but if I get kicked out it takes a really long time to resume. Tonight it loaded quickly. I have 1GB fiber so it shouldn’t be on my end. No issues with other apps or services.

Finally working.

I like it when we pass the ball. No idea why we don’t succeed every match.

FWIW, Prime gave an option to watch called “Main Broadcast” that worked a while ago. Showing from 7:05. Started a second or two after I selected it. And if you can get WSOC, it’s over the air too.

I don’t have it local to Wilmington for some reason…even though I saw where we needed to go.

that said…i the feed that worked. No idea what the problem was.

This was a beautiful game and that’s why I’m not ready to give up on the trio of LaMelo, Miller, and Kon

Big win. The way LaMelo played is how he should play in the future. I don’t remember him forcing a shot. Gotta take care of the ball, especially late.

Edit: Is Tidjane playing his way into making Bridges expendable? I certainly hope so.

I will say that Kon and Melo’s chest bump after hitting a three midway through the second was something to behold.

If we could keep that up, this team could be very special. Of course, that kind of thinking keeps Vegas going.

I missed this one, but watched the extended highlights. Key to victory: Hit 24 threes every game. Simple! Kon has now increased to 40.9% compared to three years ago.

Jalen Johnson is an incredible man. Jalen Johnson and Jalen Williams (OKC) are such underrated stars.

Those yellow-orange sweaters might be one of my least favorite gadfly outfits. If they want to go for it, just wear the Charlotte Bobcats jerseys but with the Hornets font on them, or add the Hornet logo in a color that matches the Bobcats’ orange, blue-gray and white colors. I don’t like that idea either, but it would be better than the orange ombrΓ© thing.

The way they moved the ball was a thing of beauty. Brandon, Kon & Melo with strong contributions.

What do you think of Salaun? Determined, confident drive, good man D and his outside shots. I look forward to elevating our collective BBQ when he replaces Miles.
