Gabriel Magalhaes has endorsed Arsenal’s Push to sign Real Madrid -midfielder Rodrygo in the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta wants Arsenal to add a versatile attacking player to his team alongside a new striker prior to the following season.
Rodrygo has since been signed in a £ 39.3 million deal of Brazilian side Santos in 2018 and has won 13 trophies during his time in Madrid, including three La Liga titles and the Champions League twice.
However, Madrid has considered selling Rodrygo this summer and the 24-year-old will have conversations with new head coach Xabi Alonso before he makes a decision about his future in the Santiago Bernabeu.
Arsenal and Chelsea have already interested this summer in signing Rodrygo and it is clear that Madrid would demand a transfer costs of £ 67.5 million for the Brazil international, which ended this season with 14 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
Together with Rodrygo, Gabriel plays for the national side of Brazil and the defender admits that he does not hesitate to recommend the winger to Arsenal this summer.
During his performance on the Podpah Podcast, Gabriel was asked if he knows if Arsenal Rodrygo will sign this summer.
“I don’t do that. No, I don’t really do that,” Gabriel replied.
“But I would like that clearly. Rodrygo is a phenomenon for me. He is not in Arsenal … If it depends on me, I have already told people, he is a phenomenon.
“His name is mentioned a lot. If of course it was up to me.”
Alonso did not mention last month that he would have Madrid sell Rodrygo this summer.
“Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player and I will talk to everyone who is part of Real Madrid,” said Alonso.
“Rodrygo is a spectacular player and we will need him. He deserves it, and we too.”
