Fulham fans react after the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United – Interesting

Fulham fans have reacted after the match.

Intriguing to read what they said about Newcastle United…

United have recorded four wins in their last five games in all competitions.

While Fulham fans have now seen their team lose four Premier League matches in a row.

Fulham fans respond via their Friends of Fulham And FulhamWeb message boards:

‘I think Newcastle’s high press strategy worked perfectly and we just couldn’t get a foothold or foothold in the game. Any kicks went straight back in and an accumulation of more pressure leads to mistakes.’

‘Marco out, plain and simple. We need a manager who learns from mistakes and is not afraid to make changes.”

“Let’s have some perspective. We’ve just lost three away games against good teams and a home game against Arsenal.’

‘Iwobi was Newcastle’s best player, they got a lot of nice passes from him.’

‘6 minutes was a joke. After we scored, their player was in goal for at least 5 minutes.

10 subs.Celebration of purpose. Everyone standing around me all said at least 10 minutes.

I think if they hadn’t scored it would have been at least 10.!!!

No bookings for the home team.’

“This is one of the many major flaws in this game. No one knows how much time will be added, and then exactly when the final whistle will blow. It’s ridiculous. Even the announcers/commentators in many of these games have no idea how much will be added, and are often surprised at how much or little time is added. I don’t think even the players on the field know, and neither do the team coaches. On a late turn and trailing, it is difficult to decide whether the goalkeeper should race forward to add another attacker. It’s a joke.’

‘I can’t just blame Bassey for this loss, but his two mistakes were huge. Newcastle’s high pressure and our inability to clear our lines and take our chances cost us today.”

‘I would like to give a special mention to Issa Diop. He got along very well with Woltemade. I outsmarted him the entire match. He even made some good passes, and unlike the rest of the back four he didn’t make any mistakes (except for that one moment towards the end, but I think Bassey and Berge deserve equal blame, it just seemed like a total lack of communication).”

‘A friend here told me to vote for Bassey as MOTM… but he’s a Newcastle fan… so he understands his interest in their victory!!’

‘Did Leno really make saves today that you wouldn’t expect from any other PL goalkeeper?

I went back and looked at the withdrawal chart and I’m having a hard time coming up with one. The save on Murphy’s second breakaway was quite good (like how he got out and reduced the angle), but if we’re honest, Murphy’s shot wasn’t the best. Other than that, I would have been EXTREMELY disappointed if he had had to concede from any of the shots he saved and I honestly think he could have done better on both goals.”

‘Fulham continues to give away wasteful balls in dangerous areas. That was their downfall again today. It was a good goal for Fulham that started with Kevin on his debut, but unfortunately Fulham were on the back foot for most of that game.”

“I thought we were OK for the most part today, but again bad defensive mistakes cost us. Very entertaining game, but we need a few of these to fall our way… and soon.

Interesting how things changed when Kevin joined ESR.”

‘Newcastle has its own problems and is not really in good form.’

‘Bassey surprised me today and didn’t play a good game. Caunca probably should have kept his place and given Bassey another rest. Kevin looked good and did a great job putting the cross in front of the goal. Thought Traore did well in the first half, putting the ball in dangerous places and making some good crosses. ‘

‘Probably one of the worst performances I’ve seen from Iwobi’

‘It was a game of Good, Bad and Ugly, but what made me angry was… After a goal, 6 minutes ET and going into slow motion. Lots of back and 90 degree passes with little urgency.’

‘A fourth defeat in a row and Marco Silva goes into the Wolves game with his job on the line’

‘The Liverpool manager hasn’t lost his last three games… is he gone too?’

‘Is that the same Liverpool manager who won the Prem last season?’

‘Given that logic, isn’t Marco the same manager who achieved the record number of points last season?’

‘I must have missed the cup we got for that. The Liverpool manager has plenty of credit in the bank, Marco’s is running out.’

’18 “fouls” awarded were all dives. Eleven of Newcastle’s fouls were real fouls.’
