The Collegiate Select Hockey team of the United States has announced the Front Office and the support staff for the 2025 Spengler Cup.
Steve Metcalf (Hockey East), Sean Hogan (College Hockey Inc.), Chris Meriney (College Hockey Inc.) and Don Lucia (CCHA) will form the Front Office, while Josh Penn (Umass), Aaron Leu (Denver), Perry Laskaris (CCHA) and Cameron Boors.

The selections are the first team of its kind that participates in the 97th edition of the prestigious international event in Davos, Switzerland, in December.
In his sixth season, Metcalf will act as Hockey East Commissioner as the general director of the American Collegiate Select, while Hogan, the second -year executive director of College Hockey Inc., will be the assistant GM. With the help of various NHL scouts and the coaching staff, they will help with the selection of the 25 student athletes who will form the schedule of the team.
Meriney, the college Hockey Inc. director of Herenhockeyatleetrelaties, as director of Team Operations, and Lucia, the fifth-year CCHA commissioner and Hall of Fame head coach, will take on a senior advisory role, as director of Team Operations and Lucia, as director of Team activities, the Hockey College.
A support staff with 70 years of combined college -hockey experience includes Penn, Oude Umass Director of Equipment Operations, as equipment manager of the team, and Leu, the athletic trainer of Denver who takes on his 22nd season, as Athletic Trainer of the Selects. All six NCAA hockey conferences for men are represented in the group with a few more positions that still have to be filled before the team goes to Switzerland.
The American Collegiate Select team consists of 25 student athletes from the NCAA hockey of NCAA, where every conference is represented. The competition runs from December 26-31, with the six participating teams that play at least two games each. Together with the selections, HC Davos, Team Canada, HC Fribourg-Gotteron, Sparta Praha and IFK Helsinki will participate in the 2025 edition.
This is the second time that a team selected in America has participated in the Spengler Cup, after an American team who won the tournament in 1988.
