Dr. Amber Thornton is a licensed clinical psychologist and author of “A Parent’s Guide to Self-Regulation: A Practical Framework for Breaking the Cycle of Dysregulation and Mastering Emotions for Parents and Children.” Dr. Amber is a strong advocate for parental mental health and wellbeing. She loves writing and creating online content that addresses the daily struggles of motherhood and parenthood.
Dr. Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology. She is from Ohio and has made Washington DC her home since 2018. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
