The ambition of India to create a world-class financial hub takes shape in Gift City (Gujarat International Finance TEC-City), and Alchemy Capital Management is paramount in this transformation.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Gift City Fund Conclave 2025, organized by PMSbazaar, Hiren VED, co-founder, director and CIO of Alchemy Capital Management and partner at Alchemy Investment Management LLP, said that the transition from offshore jurisdicties such as Mauritius also a for alchy, but also a for-alchy, but also a for alchy, but also a for alchyy, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a for alchyitius, but also a for alchyitius, but also a gift, but also a gift, but also a for-kileters, but also a for alchyitius, but also a gift, but also a for-mauritius. Alchemy, but also represents a kilometer of the financial ecosystem.

A daring first step

Alchemy became the first fund house that migrated from Mauritius to Giftcity. VED acknowledged that the move invited the internal debate, considering how smooth worldwide investors had had surgery through Mauritius and Singapore structures for decades. But the conviction was clear: strategies focused on India earned it to be managed from India.

“Many wondered if we were the Bali Ka Bakra,” Ved noted. “But our conviction was simple and an Indian incoming strategy is best managed from India, by managers with feet on the ground.”

Alchemy India Langetermijnfonds – Anchoring the presence of GiftCity

One of the flagship strategies housed at GiftCity is the Alchemy India Long Term Fund, which embodies the philosophy of the company to invest in the structural growth story of India. The fund focuses on high conviction, India-divided share opportunities, aimed at recording value over market cycles by supporting funds with strong funds. Is invested in the growing by the growth phases of India instead of hunting market trends in the short term. “GiftCity offers the right platform to scale up such strategies for global investors who want to participate in the transformation of India,” he said. “Since the beginning of 11% Net Dollar Drives, we have exacerbated versus the BSE 500 in Dollar Index, which has given around 6.6% in the same period, and we have been able to deliver a very handsome 400-splashing points from Alfa in 17 years,” came close to 17 years.

Why GiftCity matters

According to VED, GiftCity has supplied several fronts that make it a worldwide competitive platform:

  • Regulatory and tax clear: No GST about management costs, exemptions on certain transactions and simplified compliance compared to offshore treaty -controlled structures.
  • Growing ecosystem: A reinforcing network of managers, fund managers, law firms and service providers.
  • Proactive regulations: The International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA) has adopted a consultative, adaptive approach. “This is a refreshing change compared to the rigid regulatory environment for which India is traditionally known,” Ved noted.

These benefits, he added, convincing global investors to increasingly trust in India managers on those in New York, London or Singapore.

Expand strategies

Alchemy’s plans at GiftCity include rolling out a long short fund and a hybrid strategy that offers exposure to both listed shares and private equity opportunities in India.

VED also pointed out that GiftCity can play a key role in helping Indian high-network-Waard individuals (HNIS) worldwide diversify, so that a different dimension is added to its relevance.

India as a competitive market

Positioning of India in a worldwide context, Ved emphasized that the country is no longer just a different emerging market. “With structural reforms, resilient domestic demand and policy stability, India stands out as one of the few markets that can compete with the S&P 500 in the long term,” he said.

From Mauritius to GiftCity, the journey of Alchemy is emblematic for the broader financial evolution of India – where expertise in -house and global capital convergated.

As VED emphasizes on the GiftCity Fund Conclave 2025, the rise of GiftCity is not only about infrastructure, but about trust – the confidence that India can manage its own destination and leads to global capital markets.

“I think I see a day and time, 10 years from today, or even five years from today, when the amount of investments that will come in India is led by Giftcity, billions of dollars and eventually moving in trillions of dollars,” he added.
