After having gotten close to the new Queensland Harness Racing driver Tamara Battle, the Nieuwe Queensland was only an hour to run everywhere and live the unforgettable sensation of her first victory in the Sulky.
In only her sixth racedrive, the 32-year-old balance and calmness showed to guide $ 3.80 equal favorite without a doubt (Washington VC) To the victory in the $ 6200 Valentine Bloodstock Insurance Pace in Redcliffe last Friday evening (August 1).
Only two races earlier, she was scary scores when Miss Serendipity was hit with half a head, with a baby baby (Hurrikane Kingcole), driven by Chloe Butler, who takes the loot.
“My husband is and I have two boys, Cooper has one and Bailey, who is three. Tamara laughed.
“But to win the victory two races later was so good. It felt great. The only disappointing part was that we couldn’t have parties because we got home too late,” she said.
The pacer that delivered Tamara’s milestone moment, without a doubt, was his first Australian start. The gelding was purchased by Battle Stable owner Sonny Grebe shortly after his first victory in the Ascot Park of Nieuw -Zeeland.
From the broad barrier six, Tamara established him early before he worked three wide to sit outside the leader, Major Ark. Asked for an attempt at the 400-meter Mark, did not sprint strongly to win in a mile of 1: 58.3.

“The plan was to go on him and his effort was great after he had done it hard. He sprinted well when I abandoned him,” Tamara said.
“Sonny has a cop there who keeps an eye on suitable horses. He doesn’t mind investing in Kiwi shares and loves the sport,” she said.
“We have a bit of an opinion about without a doubt and think he has a bright future. He raced a little green and did not send so well, but Ben has a few gear changes in mind.”
Originally from Orange in New South Wales, Tamara had no background with horses before he met.
“I worked in the construction and mining industry. Now I just love to be involved in racing harness, but the last five years have been difficult with Ben and I have been set up in our property at Mutdapilly,” she said.
Mutdapilly, near Ipswich, is a village about 60 kilometers southwest of Brisbane. The ÂŁ 116 hectares of the couple has undergone an important transformation.

“When we moved, it only had a 16-horse shed. Since then we have added a sand jogger and a circuit of 800 meters for fast work. It has been a lot of hard work, but we’ll get there,” she said.
They now have a team of 25 at work, while Ben also breaks around 30 more every season. He has been an important influence on Tamara’s driving journey.
“I was encouraged to get my driver’s license. He told me that I was already driving them at home, so I might as well ride them on the races,” she said.
“My parents now also live on the site. They are absolutely fond of the horses, although Mama is a bit nervy when I race!
“I get a five -point concession and I am a very good eye for form, hopefully I can arrive the winners.”
