Frites Friet (CaptainTreacherous) showed a welcome return to form when he surprised his more depicted rivals to a determined victory in the group 1 $ 153,000 Qbred Triad final for three -year -old Colts and Veldings in Albion Park on Saturday evening.
It was a self -assured ride of Nathan Dawson who, from the second line after a round around the leader and favorite Sinabun, wrapped around the field.
Sinabun was made to do a lot of work, but he had an easier run than fries. Udderly Sweet enjoyed the race of the race just behind the leader, while the other well -supported runner our sweet pleasure was mid -field one out.

Frites put the glove down on the last corner and he moved past Sinabun. Udderly Sweet came from the rails in hot chase, but fries showed too much class. At the finish he had just less than nine meters over Udderly Sweet with Sinabun holding for third place.

Trainer driver Trent Dawson was not so surprised with the performance of the fries.
