Jeremy Frimpong was Liverpool’s best player in the 0-0 home draw against Leeds, but six players averaged less than six out of ten.

The Reds have had an insipid start to 2026, delivering a poor, goalless performance at Anfield.

Here we compare our player ratings with those of the Liverpool echo, GOAL and the TIA readers.

Frimpong (6.93) received top marks for Liverpool, with the Dutchman threatened from a rare right-wing role.

Ian Doyle of the Echo praised his “pace down the right” and “willingness” to hit the byline, but strangely gave every Reds player a score of six.

In the meantime, This is Anfield‘s Joanna Durkan was quick to point out that Frimpong was ‘honest in his defensive work’ before moving to right-back ahead of his substitution.

Hugo Ekitike (6.48) wasn’t at his best, but he was in second place in the ratings, with GOAL’s Mark Doyle saying he was “starved for quality service.”

Andy Robertson (5.70) was Liverpool’s lowest rated player and failed to take advantage of his opportunity after coming on for Milos Kerkez.

However, this was a night where many could have received that unwanted honor!

What the statistics say

According to FotMobAlisson was Liverpool’s top player, that says all you need to know!

The Brazilian kept a clean sheet – his 100th in the Premier League for the Reds – which is at least something positive to take from the match.

However, it was a disappointing evening for Florian Wirtz, who had only one shot on target from four attempts and failed to complete a single dribble (0/1).

Ekitike showed promise in the first half but struggled to take the lead in the same way he has this season as the match progressed, culminating in him winning just three of nine ground duels, the second-worst success rate (33%) of any Reds.
