Friday Fashion Face-Off: Best dressed woman on the US Open 2025

Did you see the semi -final of the women yesterday? What a treat! Only a few weeks ago I ran all the stifling in the women’s game, with three of these four semi -finalists who served as my examples. Yesterday, to quote Patrick Mcenroe, they stepped up and delivered, including Amanda Anisimova, who bounce back from that humiliating double bagel in the final of Wimbledon. The only possible explanation for this dramatic change? These ladies read Littleyellowball! (Hey, guys!)

Seriously, I couldn’t be happier to eat my words.

Another treat has of course been to see all the great fashion. I had a hard time lending the field to just three, and I expect that I will get an earful about who was left off the stage. Apply it, people. I can take it.

Nominated #1: Marta Kostyuk

A lot is made of the dominant color red on the opening of this year, which appears everywhere, from dresses to fugly shoes to the bottom of Coco Gauff. I keep waiting to hear what Pam Shriver makes everything, but if she has shared more of her contemplations about the complex interplay of menstruation, fashion and performance, I have missed it.

Whatever the status of Kostyuk’s cycle, this small red number from Wilson is a blast. I love the layered look with the zipper, the white pipes in the waist and collar, and the Unapological In-Your-face RED!

Nominated #2: Anna Kalinskaya

Already blessed with a good appearance and a baby patooty puppyIs it fair that Kalinskaya, born in Kalinskaya in Russian, can also wear this beautifully manufactured Nike ensemble? I am in love with this color (is it periwinkle?) And the way it pops up against gray. The geometric structuring of the back takes this outfit practically in the empire of High Fashion.

Unfortunately, Getty Images do not offer recording of the back, so here it is from the Nike store:

Nominated #3: Taylor Townsend

In itself, this dress would not be my favorite of all the looks that have been worn by the sponsorless Townsend in recent weeks. But sometimes clothing transcends purely aesthetics. In the now notorious substance with a loose Jelena Ostapenko, Townsend led itself with strength, dignity and passion (and showed the same fierceness and balance a day later in her stunning dismantling of fifth placed Mirra Andreeva). In his balance between elegance and fire, the dress perfectly catches both the moment and the woman who has risen above it.
