Thomas Frank does not hesitate that his Tottenham team will be ready for their UEFA Super Cup collision with Paris Saint-Germain despite their 4-0 defeat for the season against Bayern Munich.

Frank watched as he got his first defeat since he took over from Ange Postecoglou in a competition in which Spurs did not bother the ruling Bundesliga champions.

Harry Kane opened the score against his former club before missing a penalty in the first half, with Vincent Kompany’s side turning on the style after the interval.

Bayern doubled their advantage through the stunning effort of Kingsley Coman before he completed the route from replacers Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare.

Spurs only led three shots on goal in the game, so that a expected goals (XG) in total only generated 0.36 compared to Bayern’s 3.6 of their 26 general efforts.

“We clearly played a very good team tonight,” said Frank. “In my opinion, Bayern is one of the teams that are probably favorites to win the Champions League.

“They achieved a good level, we did not reach a good level. That is a bad combination, but we will certainly learn from these.

“I definitely have some answers we will look at, but we will now think quietly after the game and look through it.

“It also seems that somehow we missed some energy that we should find – cannot play a team without that energy.”

The defeat put an end to the unbeaten run of Tottenham for the season, with remarkable results, including a 1-0 triumph over North London Rivals Arsenal.

But their last match prior to the Premier League campaign of 2025-26 will come against Champions League winners PSG in next week’s Super Cuppronk.

It will be Frank’s first competitive competition that is responsible for Tottenham and will be the first manager whose first game is in charge of an English club in the Super Cup.

The meeting in Bluenergy Stadium will be the first meeting between the two clubs, in which PSG wins five of their eight games against English opposition in 2025 (L3).

And although Opta’s pre-match simulations a chance of winning of 18.3%traces, Frank believes that his team is more than ready to adopt the side of Luis Enrique with stars.

“We will be 100% ready for that game. I have no doubt about it. There are six days ahead,” Frank added.

“We have a normal week in the last two weeks for the first time, so with everything – just go down, travel less, they stimulate, three or four good sessions – then we will be ready against PSG.”
