Francis Ngannou has performed his training regime while discussions continue to a boxing match with former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder. Dazn Boxing has indicated interest in a Deontay Wilder vs. Francis Ngannou Matchup.

On August 21, Ngannou placed a training clip on Instagram, tackle “It is time to finally arrange the debate. @Bronzebomber,” in which he drills overbinking rights with measured power and timing. The video shows the dedication of Ngannou to refine his boxing fundamentals, in particular his characteristic over -hand right – an artillery piece that he wants to test against the famous Pons power of Wilder.
Ngannou, 38, ventured into professional boxing for the first time in October 2023 and dropped Tyson Fury before he lost a split decision in Riyad. He then suffered a second round knockout by Anthony Joshua in March 2024. After that setback, Ngannou returned to mixed martial arts and insured a first round of Renan Ferreira in October 2024 to claim the PFL Super Fight Heamerweight title. Francis Ngannou is the Linear UFC Heavyweight Champion who also has the heavyweight title of the PFL.
In a performance of 18 August on the Ariel Helwani show, Ngannou confirmed that the wilder fight is “fast”, and notes that teams “set up a few things on both sides”, although formal negotiations still have to be concluded. He emphasized that his training remains constant, regardless of the timing, and the Wilder match-up framed as his preferred challenge in combat sports.
Deontay Wilder, 39, has also shown interest in being confronted with Ngannou, although details are unknown. Wilder returned to the ring in June and put Tyrell Hndon in seven rounds and marked his first victory since a knockout by Robert Helenius in 2022.
Wilder’s camp does not have public detailed conditions, but the social media exchange – including Dazn Boxing’s response to Ngannou’s message – signals the momentum to a Deal and potential promotional partnership. Dazn Boxing’s on-platform engagement indicates that the competition can be performed under his banner.

If Ngannou and Wilder close the conditions, the matchup would represent a crossover event of the tent. Ngannou’s trips in Boxing have drawn considerable pay-per-view interest rate, thanks in part to his raw punching power and MMA-vabeboom. Wilder, once one of the most dreaded knockout artists of the division, retains name recognition that would feed the number of viewers despite mixed recent results. Both hunters come in the project with reputation for Single-Punch Vecht-dependent capacity, making it a scene for a showdown with a high bet in the heavyweight division.
