Framber Valdez’s tantrum could cost him in a free agency

Framber Valdez’s tantrum could cost him in a free agency

Houston Astros Pitcher Framber Valdez may have his free-agent stock with one throw tanks.

Valdez allowed six points on eight hits and a walk with eight strikeouts over five innings in the 7-1 loss of Astros on Tuesday. However, it was a field that attracted everyone’s attention when Valdez deliberately seemed to get Chatar Salazar in the chest immediately after a grand slam. Salazar had tried to let Valdez step from the rubber for the pitch to Yankees -outfielder Trent Grisham who resulted in the slam, but Valdez ignored him and threw the field.

While Valdez and his agent denied that touching Salazar was intentional, not everyone believes that explanation.

Astros’ Valdez could have a smaller market for free agent than expected

That field did not escape the notification surrounding the competition. Bob Nightengale of the US reported today That Valdez may have cost himself a considerable amount in a free agency. He further reported that a public organization Valdez had completely removed from their wish list out of season.

In theory, Valdez should be one of the more wanted pitchers in the free desk. A dual all-star and an important part of the 2022 World Series Winning Squad of the Astros, Valdez has posted a 3.42 ERA and a 1,190 whip over his 176.1 innings, who threw 171 batters with 58 walks. Because Valdez will be 32 during the low season, he would still have to have several solid seasons for him.

If the Valdez market was only based on its performance, he would be one of the best free agent pitchers during the low season 2025-26. However, by deliberately crossing his catcher and beating him with a pitch, Valdez may have damaged his approaching free agency.
