Ekitike + Frimpong -Goals

Hugo Ekitike only needed four minutes to score on Wembley on Sunday.

Sharp from the start, the 23-year-old was demonstrably the best player of Liverpool, because he combined well with Florian Wirtz (£ 8.5 million) for the opener. He should probably have scored a second when he had two considerable opportunities after the break.

Nevertheless, this was a very encouraging debut for 71 minutes, with another start that was expected against Bournemouth on Friday.

“He had a good impact, but he is also an example of a player who came, I think, one and a half to two weeks ago, at the end of our Asian tour. So for me, with just three or four days before the Friday match, it would not be smart to play him for 90 minutes because … of course we have Federico [Chiesa] But he was also not on the Asian tour, so there is not much to replace it. So if he is currently an injury, that would be a big risk for the competitions of Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal. That’s why I took it out, but he had a good game today, that’s for sure. ” – Arne Slot on Hugo Ekitike

Another new arrival, Jeremie Frimpong, also came to the Score magazine in Wembley, when he switched the ball in the upper corner when he wanted to cross.

Nevertheless, not everything was positive for Liverpool.

Liverpool exposed

One of the most important take -away restaurants in this match was the defensive vulnerabilities of Liverpool.

The line of defense was often exposed and it was clear that the system did not function as smoothly as Arne Slot had hoped.

Palace was indeed able to make it tie twice.

Virgil van Dijk (£ 6.0 million) was particularly bad and guilty for both goals, which initially admit a fine before he was caught for the second position.

It can take some time for the full-backs, Frimpong and Milos is coming (£ 6.0 million), to also adapt well to their new roles.

In his press conference after the competition, Slot accepted that his team should improve defensively.

“Now we are better at creating and getting promising situations than we were, in my opinion, during the entire season. But the other side is also true that we have admitted four against Milan, one against the Japanese team, two against Bilbao and again two today. We have to do it better defensive.” – Arne Slot

Ryan Gravenberch (£ 5.5 million) was not involved with Wembley in the meantime because his partner gave birth on Saturday. He was suspended for Friday’s opener against Bournemouth.

Wirtz Impact/Salah Stil

The full passing range of Florian Wirtz was on Sunday because he claimed the assist for the opener of Ekitike with a well -weighted ball.

In a no. 10 roll (see below), the German twilight passed the ball well, showed good control in tight spaces and orchestrated the game in general for Liverpool.

He did indeed finish TOP for opportunities (four), last third touches (33) and received passes in the last third (22).

He also did not neglect his defensive tasks, which resulted in 10 defensive contributions, only two shortage of the midfielder threshold.

It was an afternoon to forget Mohamed is wrong (£ 14.5 million), which, however, was not characteristic poor.

The Egyptian did not create any chance for his teammates, only one shot on goal succeeded and shot his penalty well over the bar in the shootout. That is the second spot kick that Salah missed in the preseason.

Hart + Sarrr on goal

Oliver Glasner decided to name the same start XI that won in the FA Cup final against Manchester City, and this decision was bearing fruit.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (£ 7.5 million), which has now scored five goals in the preseason, has turned a fine with Rear seat (£ 7.5 million) on the field.

The electric Hermila Hare (£ 6.5 million) Later scored a vital equalizer, after he had previously won the penalty.

Mateta also scored in the shootout, while Eze’s attempt was saved, making the Frenchman placed as the likely candidate who took Palace’s first fine of the Premier League season 2025/26.

Besides that, Mateta was quiet and the ball touched only 17 times.

Yet he is in a good form of the preseason, with interest that starts to rise.

In other news, Daniel Munoz (£ 5.5 million) showed a lot of dynamics along the right flank and produced nine defensive contributions (see below). He also created three opportunities.

Adam Wharton (£ 5.0 million), meanwhile, assisted the equalizer of SARR and was in a solid possession, created with three major opportunities.

In his interview after the game, Glasner confirmed Marc Guehi (£ 4.5 million) left the field with cramps while Daichi Kamada (£ 5.0 million) has sustained a knee problem.

“He feels that it is not that worse, but he was in pain. We will look at him in more detail tomorrow. It seems that it is not so serious, but it may be that he might miss one or two games.” – Oliver Glasner on Daichi Kamada

Crystal Palace XI: Henderson; Richars, Laroiix, Guehi (Domwar 94); Munoz, Wranton (Letma 85), Kamada (hugs 29), Mitchell (SOSA 79); Sar, Ezee, Mateta
