Although the behavior of a certain center-forward poisoned that was intended as a big summer for Newcastle United, there is a reasonable argument that buying both Yoane warned (£ 7.5 million) and Nick Woltemade (£ 7.0 million) She now makes a stronger outfit.
Having a deeper team is of course good for Newcastle. But does it harm both strikers from a Fantasy Premier League (FPL) perspective?
We will take a look during this reconnaissance report piece, including data and images of our Premium membership.
Wissa History
At the age of 21, the career of Wissa started escalating in 2017/18. Loan tints led to a permanent Lorient relocation, in which 15 goals contributed to final promotion, and he scored 10 times to prevent relegation.
| SEASON | CLUB | COMPETITION | Starts (sub) | Go | Helps |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024/25 | Brentford | Premier League | 34 (1) | 19 | 6 |
| 2023/24 | Brentford | Premier League | 29 (5) | 12 | 4 |
| 2022/23 | Brentford | Premier League | 16 (22) | 7 | 4 |
| 2021/22 | Brentford | Premier League | 12 (18) | 7 | 2 |
| 2020/21 | Lorient | Ligue 1 | 30 (8) | 10 | 5 |
| 2019/20 | Lorient | Ligue 2 | 25 (3) | 15 | 3 |
| 2018/19 | Lorient | Ligue 2 | 23 (13) | 6 | 5 |
Bought by Brentford in the summer after their own promotion, his first pair of seasons were usually cameemas on both wings. But at the start of the long ban of Ivan Toney, he finished impressively 2022/23 as a center-forward.
Wissa remained there for the majority of 2023/24, starting from 29 times and scored 12 before a brilliant 2024/25 185 FPL points and 19 strikes brought in, all in the box.
When Bryan Mbeumo (£ 8.1 million) took the spotkicks of the bees, that meant that Erling (£ 14.1 million) was the only Premier League player who expected his non-penalty expected goals (NPXG, 18.59-see image below) Tally. Wissa is also in fifth place for great opportunities (34) and sixth for placing shots on Doel (41).
So while Newcastle has published a huge much too much, the recently 29-year-old knows how to score goals in this competition. Although there was a lot together with Mbeumo.
Woltemade History
Wissa is ready to go, takes some pressure from the inexperienced but exciting woolmade.
At the age of 23, the German was quickly up. Three seasons ago he dismissed Elversberg from the third to a second -class football before he got stuck at Ouderclub Werder Bremen.
| SEASON | CLUB | COMPETITION | Starts (sub) | Go | Helps |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024/25 | Stuttgart | Bundesliga | 17 (11) | 12 | 2 |
| 2023/24 | Werder Bremen | Bundesliga | 12 (18) | 2 | 0 |
| 2022/23 | Elversberg (Loan) | 3. League | 25 (6) | 10 | 9 |
Stuttgart saw his potential and broke him on a free transfer last summer, so this is a nice, Frankfurt-like win for The Swabians.
Although his competition record is not particularly noticeable, it needs context. Firstly, his extra five goals helped them to win the DFB Cup. Secondly, Woltemade was a replacement for Stuttgart’s first 10 Bundesliga competitions, five times unused. He was also not registered in their Champions League team.
But the last nine months unlocked ‘Wolte-Messi’, as he is lovingly labeled.
Two goals from the bank changed the shortage of 0-2 Union Berlin in December into victory and earned him a place in their line-up. It started a series of 11 goals in 21 games, including a strike in each of their last three.
He yielded a cup final opener and then became the top scorer of the European U21 championship. Also mentioned in UEFA’s team of the tournament, the Hype van Woltemade reached a new level, and Bayern Munich really wanted to buy it and saw various bids rejected.
0.67 goals per 90 was one of the best rates of the Bundesliga, just like 50% of the attempts on goal. Nevertheless, the small sample size makes him a risky signature with these club record costs.
How do they fit in Newcastle?
“He brings the proven Premier League quality, not only demonstrated by his goal well, but also by the crucial work he does for the team. Yoane’s playing style will excite our supporters and supplement our playing style – he has tempo, power and an excellent working speed. He immediately makes us stronger.” – Eddie Howe on Yoane Wissa
Wissa, a composed Finisher, has the pace to accept defenders and an ideal working speed for the tendency of his new party to press from the front.
Both Brentford and Newcastle were good at fast breaks, where the Magpies now added the rapid addition Anthony Luna (£ 7.0 million) to their arsenal. Only two Premier League attackers have included more in 2024/25 Ball wears (of at least five meters) than Wissa, but some occasions require penalties.
Eddie Howe’s Lot has successfully crossed a competition of open-play and, incredibly for a 5ft 8 in assets, he defeated everyone except Chris Wood (£ 7.7 million) For head goals last season, the latter often set up by Elanga.
While the unconventional Woltemade has a unique skills that are 6ft 6 in height. In fact, only one of the 17 goals from last season (in all competitions) was a header. Of the 18 Bundesliga attackers who dispute at least 100 air fights, 11 had a better success rate (44.7%).

Instead, he likes dribbling and has a wonderful first touch. So don’t assess a book on his cover.
He is smart in falling deep to link the game, has a great vision and is more a nine and a half.
“He has the ability to dance by players and simply be such a unique player. Of course, improvements have been made in terms of his hold -up play, his coolness for the goal. If Eddie Howe can get this guy further in the right direction, then Newcastle has a very exciting player.
“Finally, one of his answers to me was ‘I like to be the entertainer’. I think that is always exciting to hear from a football player.” -Bundesliga reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt on Nick Woltemade
It can be exciting to look in full stream, because the elegant ball -asking feet from Lanky Woltemade quickly catch the imagination. Especially when he subtracts a nutmeg.
He wears an average of 9.8 ball per 90 last season, in addition to 2.56 open play shots per 90.

Callum Wilson (£ 5.9 million) was hardly fit during the last campaign and denied the chance to rotate his fronts.
Now he can choose Wissa or Woltemade based on the next opponent of Newcastle. Can they even play together?
“He is strong in many areas – he has great technical skills and has proven to be a real threat in one of the top competitions in Europe – but he is also still at an age where he has enough room to develop and grow. Nick is also a great character and we are really happy to welcome him in the group.” – Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade
Whether it is WISSA that occasionally returns to his winger roots or Woltemade plays between the lines as a creative number 10, there is optimism that they can connect very nicely when necessary.
The two Center-Forwards of Newcastle combined for 23 goals last time. We would support this duo to at least achieve that number together.
Are there worth buying in FPL?

However, such a depth can harm both fantasy perspectives.
Wissa takes the famous number nine shirt and will probably start as a center-forward, while Woltemade adapts to his new environment, making it a decent option in the short term.

Yet the latter is the signing of Newcastle and will eventually take over, certainly due to the expected AFCon trip from Wissa. Things are further complicated in the Champions League.
Cheap FPL coverage of a top team is good, but it is probably still better for managers to keep up Joao Pedro (£ 7.7 million), Jean-Philippe Mateta (£ 7.5 million) or Evanilson (£ 7.0 million) instead. Possibly even Chris Wood or Jarrod Bowen (£ 7.8 million), at least for the time being.
