If you’re in a hurry and need some last-minute Fantasy Premier League (FPL) advice, here’s a quick summary of what you need to know about Gameweek 9.
WHEN IS THE FPL GAMEWEEK 9 DEADLINE?
Be quick! All transfers and team selections must be made no later than this 6:30pm BST on Friday 24th October.
BUY, HOLD OR SELL?
In this week’s regular article on transfer trends, we asked whether managers should give up some key names.
For example, it will be interesting to see how long João Pedro (£7.5 million), Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) and Tijani Reijnders (£5.7m) remains in the template of ‘The Great and the Good’.
Chelsea’s striker has been terrible of late but is unanimously picked by the Scout Squad as he is set to face Sunderland. Bookmakers think the Brazilian is the most likely player to score. Gyokeres – even goalless in four league games – at least scores in the Champions League and gets a lot of shots.
Both he and Reijnders are supported by ‘Goals Imminent’ – the same data that was correctly predicted Jean-Philippe Mateta‘s (£7.6m) Gameweek 8 success.
The Manchester City midfielder played just 59 minutes against Everton. Zophar believes it may be time to get rid of and stay away from all three in his Wildcard activation.
CHIP GONE

What complicates the Gameweek 9 Wildcard debate for others is that Chelsea and Arsenal have excellent short-term fixtures, as do fellow strikers. Nick Woltemade (£7.3 million). His brilliant strike against Brighton and Hove Albion made it four goals in five for this week’s most bought player.
Many managers are planning to use Bench Boost as the cheap defenders of Burnley and Leeds United are about to meet the bottom two sides. Shutdowns are possible. Meanwhile, cheap forwards Marco Guiu (£4.3 million) and That is, Junior Kroupi (£4.5m) seems likely to kick off, as a reward for their recent goals.
But owners of an injured defender Joachim Andersen (£4.5 million) will either have to sell it or postpone the use of this chip. Pro Pundit Lateriser is one of them. He is looking forward to a new Gameweek, especially now that doubts have arisen Gabriel Magalhaes‘ (£6.4 million) states.
DYCHE AT FOREST

Could it even be time to back a rejuvenation of Nottingham Forest under new boss Sean Dyche? After all, they defeated Porto on Thursday evening.
So much was expected of the Tricky Trees defense following last season’s heroics, but popular pre-season picks have still failed to keep a clean sheet.
Consider indeed Nikola Milenkovic (£5.3 million) and Murillo (£5.3m) would have been the two highest scoring players in their position in 2024/2025 if defensive contribution points (DefCon) had been taken into account, they would hardly pick up any points. This is despite there being many more Premier League DefCon points than last time at this stage.
Approach Bos carefully.
BEST FPL GAMEWEEK 9 CAPTAIN

It is not surprising that Erling Haaland (£14.7m) is the recommended bracelet recipient of our Captain Sensible survey. So far, his season has included 24 goals in just 14 appearances for club and country.
Bruno Fernandes (£8.9m) is in second place, with Antoine Semenyo (£8.1 million) completed the podium.
TEAM REVEALS
SCOUT CHOICES + DIFFERENTIAL
Our weekly selection – which is essentially a Free Hit except for the name – includes all three captaincy candidates, as well as Woltemade.

As an Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite (£5.3m) has undergone surgery and will be out for a while, Michael Keane (£4.5 million) is suggested as one of three good differential choices.
PREDICTED LINEUPS
We have predicted the starting XIs of all twenty Premier League teams.
