FPL Gameweek 1 Early reconnaissance choices: Four double-ups

FPL Gameweek 1 Early reconnaissance choices: Four double-ups

6 minutes, 17 seconds Read

Although the game weekend 1 Deadline of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is still over a week, we thought it was time for a very early Scout Picks ‘Bosteam’.

The ‘2024/25 Team of the Season’ image has probably reached the end of its shelf life …

Of course a lot can change between now and the deadline. There are community painting, countless friendly competitions for the season and 20 press conferences that come.

The upcoming nominations of Scout Squad will also help shape the latest reconnaissance choices.

But this early selection gives at least a bit of a taste of the players and teams that we will consider.

About the scout picks ‘bunch team’

FPL Pre-season: Saka Doel, as Piroe + O'Riley Shine

This ‘bust team’ selection is essentially a first sketch of what we will complete on Thursday a week.

There are, as always, certain limitations for our team:

  • A budget of £ 83.0 million for our starting XI
  • A total team limit of £ 100.0 million
  • No more than three players per team

The likely boys

FPL Gameweek 38 Tips: Best players, predicted line-ups, team news + more 1

During the 2024/25 season, Mohamed is wrong (£ 14.5 million) Rarely lacked in the reconnaissance choices, and it is very likely that he will appear again in Gameweek 1 of the upcoming campaign.

The Egyptian broke the record of FPL points of all time last time and will organize Bournemouth for a week on Friday. The cherries are lost Kepa Arrizabalaga (£ 4.5 million), Dean Huijsen, and of course, Milos is coming (£ 6.0 million) To Liverpool this summer.

Salah also has a history of starting strong, after he has returned a return to the opening day of every campaign since his arrival at Merseyside in 2017.

Cole Palmer (£ 10.5 million) can also occur in our selection of scout picks.

Despite a bad period at the beginning of 2025, the 23-year-old bounced back at the FIFA Club World Cup, which contributed three goals and two assists in six games.

He has also returned to each of his last three performances against the Crystal Palace of Oliver Glasner. Palmer did indeed create more chances against the Eagles than any other side in the 2024/25 season (10).

Nottingham Forest defensive display, albeit by Matz Sels (£ 5.0 million), Nikola Milenkovic (£ 5.5 million) or Murillo (£ 5.5 million), also looks at the maps, with Brentford first on the city.

Keith Andrews’s Kant has of course sold Bryan Mbeumo (£ 8.0 million) this summer, with Yoane warned (£ 7.5 million) Expected to him via the output door. The couple was good for 39 out of 66 Premier League goals from Brentford in the past term.

For the time being we have opted for Sels; However, it is worth noting that both Milenkovic and Murillo would have registered defensive contribution (DC) points in the corresponding fixture last season.

Further ahead, Chris Wood (£ 7.5 million) contributes clear attraction.

Contrary

It is possible that we will include extra Liverpool players in the last reconnaissance choices.

Florian Wirtz (£ 8.5 million) and Cody Agat (£ 7.5 million) are very on our radar. We will also consider Virgil van Dijk (£ 6.0 million), he was allowed to be fit for Sunday’s community match against Crystal Palace.

And what about Jeremie Frimpong (£ 6.0 million)? The attack -oriented right back yielded five goals and offered 12 assists for Bayer Leverkusen last season and was able to start against Bournemouth, given the doubts currently around Conor Bradley‘s (£ 5.0 million) fitness.

Civic anchor Ryan Gravenberch (£ 5.5 million) has been suspended for this collision. That could be a setback for the clean guidance of Liverpool.

As you can see, we focused on the three newly promoted teams in our early design.

This year’s newcomers, Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland, will certainly do better than last year’s group. Yet there are legitimate concerns, given how big the step for the Premier League is.

Idiman Ndima (6.5m), Mohammed Kudus (£ 6.5 million) and Jarrod Bowen (£ 8.0 million) Then make the cut.

They are accompanied by James Tarkowski (£ 5.5 million), Pedro Porro (£ 5.5 million) and El Hadji Malick Diouf (£ 4.5 million).

No player in a position would have achieved as many DC points as Tarkowski last season, with 44. Now back after injury, he should be ready to start in Gameweek 1.

In the meantime, Porro has held tasks in the preseason and should fit well with Thomas Frank’s approach.

As far as Diouf is concerned, he scored seven goals and gave four assists for Slavia Prague last season. After a wobbly show against Everton in the Premier League Summer Series, he bounced back on Sunday with an excellent display against Bournemouth and claimed the assist for Bowen’s second half of a strike with poor delivery from the left. AARON WAN-BISSAKA (£ 4.5 million) could be a neat alternative in the West Ham United ranks.

Other backline options in the game week 1 -mix include Robert Sanchez (£ 5.0 million), Marc Cucurella (£ 6.0 million), As the GVVIool (£ 6.0 million), Rayan Ait-Nouri (£ 6.0 million) and Maxim de Cuyper (£ 4.5 million), about whom you can read more here.

Representation of the attack by Aston Villa and the attack by Newcastle United can be a gurer. This fixture has yielded many goals lately, with 25 (!) About their previous six encounters:

Overhead of 11 V 11

Morgan Rogers (£ 7.0 million) and Ollie Watkins (£ 9.0 million), perhaps even even Donyell Malen (£ 5.5 million) are viable candidates. Watkins in particular Villa inspired a statement victory over Newcastle in April.

However, Emiliano Martinez (£ 5.0 million) has been suspended in Gamweek 1, so an attacker in Newcastle is not excluded. Anthony Gordon (£ 7.5 million) is perhaps the most likely; He could be on penalties if Alexander Isaac (£ 10.5 million) is not involved.

Elsewhere, Kaoru Mitoma‘s (£ 6.5 million) 198.8 minutes per expected target involvement (XGI) in 2024/25 was the best of every midfielder of Brighton and Hove Albion. He is probably also the most safe attacker, with Danny Welbeck (6.5m), Georgia Rutter (£ 6.0 million) and Matt O’Riley (£ 5.5 million) Possibly competing for two starting places.

That said, Albion recently has difficulty breaking down the defensive form of Fulham and only scored five goals in their last eight meetings.

Manchester City plays away at Wolverhampton Wanderers in Gamweek 1, so Erling (£ 14.0 million) will not be far from our thoughts, but there may be a better use of the funds. There are cheaper alternatives in the Pep Guardiola team, such as Omar Marmoush (£ 8.5 million), Rayan Cherki (£ 6.5 million) and Tijjani Reijnders (£ 5.5 million). Hopefully on Saturday-friendly against Palermo will offer insights into the starting line-up of Pep Guardiola.

FPL Pre-season: Fernandes Brace, Heaven, Everton Low at Centrum-Backs 3

You wouldn’t bet against Bukayo from (£ 10.0 million) (£ 10.0 million), Kai Havertz (£ 7.5 million) or Viktor (£ 9.0 million) Finding the net against Manchester United, but there are probably better choices elsewhere in Gameweek 1.

The same applies to the backline options from Arsenal, such as David Raya (£ 5.5 million), William Saliba (£ 6.0 million) and Gabriel Magalhaes (£ 6.0 million), given that there was a number of promising glimpse of the new attack by United against Everton on Sunday in the Premier League Summer Series.

However, Bruno Fernandes (£ 9.0 million) and Co remain outsiders for selection, given the strength of the defense of Arsenal in recent times.

If we decide to switch on the attackers, Jean-Philippe Mateta (£ 7.5 million), Joao Pedro (£ 7.5 million) and Jorgen Strand Larsen (£ 6.5 million) may be shouting, although it feels unlikely at this early stage.

Finally, Harry Wilson (£ 5.5 million) can be a brutal difference against Brighton. He scored five goals and offered one assist for the preseason.
