FPL comments: Wissa + Strand Larsen injury Newest, Woltemade Doel

Fantasy Forwards present and absent was the most important point of conversation after the victory of Newcastle United on Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Nick Woltemade (£ 7.0 million) marked his debut on the Magpies with a goal, while there were updates about the non -available Jorgen Strand Larsen (£ 6.4 million) and Yoane warned (£ 7.5 million) After full time on Tyneside.

The match in St James’ Park starts our game week 4 Scout Notes.

Warned an injury update

Eddie Howe said after full -time that he had “no news” on Wissa, who was excluded on Friday with a knee injury.

But the Evening Chronicle’s Lee Ryder Had an important update about the Dr. Congo International in the aftermath of the game, and claimed that Wissa would be out for 4-5 weeks.

The same timeline was widely advertised on Saturday evening by the National Media.

The former striker of Brentford could then be on its way for a Gamweek 8 -backer.

Woltemade finished

That leaves Woltemade in pole position for the role of the striker to the international break of October.

How he deals with the non -repellent schedule (Thursday’s collision with Barcelona is followed by a trip to Bournemouth less than 72 hours later) and can still be seen. Wolves, even if the Premier League table does not suggest it yet, perhaps the weakest team of the division at the moment.

“He certainly felt it physically, I think. He said he never got a cramp before and he had it after 60 minutes! There is a physical adjustment, as we know, with this competition, it is ruthless.” – Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade

But it was a promising competition. For a player who was not intended as a ‘right’ out-and-out striker, his debut goal was a classic song that would have been proud of nine: a thumbing header of the close-range of one Jacob Murphy (6.3m) Cross.

“Great moment for Nick. I think I was very happy with how he played today. You saw his qualities, his technical characteristics that we discussed. His intelligence, but especially for a striker when the ball comes in the box, you have to be there. Good start.” – Eddie Howe on Nick Woltemade

Woltemade had a total of three efforts, two of them headers and all in the box. But, as many of the reconnaissance reports had suggested, he is not your archetypal goal pendant. Although 20 touches were the lowest of every Newcastle starter on Saturday, those accents were intelligent.

He could certainly be good for the goal of the Wingers of the Magpies, with his link-up game. One dismissal almost resulted in a Murphy goal, while another breakthrough set broken down Harvey Barnes (£ 6.5 million) Gone for a non -adjusted Murphy strike.

Murphy preferred Elanga

Murphy has been written off several times in his eight -year career in Newcastle. The summer sign of Anthony Luna (£ 7.0 million) seemed to be another blow for his game time.

But Murphy has now preferred Elanga twice in a row. He delivered an excellent performance on Saturday and connected well with Woltemade.

Murphy was even at the top of the non-penalty of the day expected goal involvement (NPXGI), and saw an effort from close by that saved his own.

In reality, however, Newcastle Wingers are a continuous FPL ‘avoiding’ with the game-to-game minutes risk this fall.

The rear four of Saturday remained unchanged throughout the season (Howe is reluctant to tinker with his defense) and they clocked their third clean sheet here in four games.

Fabian Schar (£ 5.5 million) delivered ‘Defcon’ returns for the second time in 2025/26 on Saturday too.

Above: Newcastle has the best XGC record this season

But this is not the time to buy Schar etc., with an in-form Bournemouth and Arsenal afterwards.

Beach Larsen “day after day”

Wolves remain scoreless and rooted to the bottom of the table. Second soil for XGC, they are 20th for XG on the other side of the field.

They actually started clearly on Tyneside, with left wing-back Rodrigo Gomes (£ 4.5 million) who look dangerous and come close three times.

Hwang Hee-Chan (£ 5.9 million) also tested Nick Pope (£ 5.0 million) In the first minute before they can almost be seen Saint (£ 5.5 million), which played in a 3-5-2 next to the Korean.

But from minute 38 to 88, no sausage. The execution became limp, with the attack that goes back to their previous worst clashed.

“Scores goals if we have the chance, because we have the opportunities, and if we start scoring our goals, we are more likely [win]. ” – Vorror Pereira about what wolves should improve to end their losses

The absence of Jorgen Strand Larsen (£ 6.4 million) is of course mitigation.

There is a spark of hope and it is only a glimpse that the Big Norwegian may be suitable for the Gameweek 5 visit from Leeds United, based on reports after the game.

Vitor Pereira has given a debut to Ladislav Krejci (£ 4.5 million), an FPL defender who was standing in the central midfield here.

“We have had one training with Tolu. He is another player, he is physically strong, he gives us the opportunity to play a long ball and hold this ball and give time for us to appear. He did well, of course he is not in the physical state to do better.

“Krejci can play as a midfielder, can play as a central defender, with quality, with good decisions, because he has the skills and is good for us because he is a player who can do more than one position.” – Vitor Pereira
