Classy Three Fox Dan (Art Major) raised his chances of winning a place in next week’s Eureka with a solid winning completely in the hip Pocket Castlemaine Pace in Melton on Saturday evening.
A short priced favorite Fox was made to work early before he left Surfmakesense before driver Ryan Sanderson stabiled the field to have a breathing break in the lead.
Justalittlesip who had some support began smartly from the second row to work through the field, but he then had to race outside the leader.
But despite the fast early Burst, Fox was still able to produce a last quarter of 27.3 seconds and he stopped a brave surfmaster with Roadmaster in third place.
Trainer Emma Stewart probably has a maximum of five runners in the Eureka and she is in a strong position to repeat her Eureka training success in 2023 when Encipher scored.
FOX then play again on August 30
As a two -year -old Fox, both warmth and final of the Bathurst Gold Crown won and has always shown a touch of class. If he got a point in the Eureka, he is certainly a strong 2300 meters. The Colt has now won eight of its twelve start with three placements.
Sanderson said after the event
“Kez (Kryn Manning) wanted to hold the early lead, but we kept pushing and he ran a great race afterwards.”
“He is a bit professional, you can press the button and he will settle reasonably well. He felt good all the way and I thought he had a great race.”
“I think he is quite versatile. He seems really strong. They will usually walk a strong 2300 meters. If he was chosen, he will run a great race.”
“He is similar to Go Mike (Stablemate). He is a number of really great three -year -olds”.
Earlier in the night combined Stewart and Sanderson combined with Cigano (Poster Boy) in the Hygain Victory Pace and then they completed a triplicate when the top three -year -old storms collided (The Storm Inside) his rivals were beating in the beating of stabile captain that was the early lead and my UltiTe -UltiTe lead.
Storms Collide ran its last 400 meters in a sizzling 26.6 seconds and will certainly feel his presence in the coming classics, including the Victoria Derby, the Vicbred Super Series and the Kroon breeders.
