The mansion’s owners, Professor Lindsay Oades and Alison Hemsley, are selling it as they prepare to go abroad for work.

Prof Oades, currently Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne, will take up a new role as Provost at the University of York in Mumbai, India.

Ms Hemsley was previously Associate Dean of Student Services at Trinity College, University of Melbourne.

They moved to Parkville when Prof. Oades took up his position at the university and their two sons attended local primary and secondary schools.

The couple say they have enjoyed being connected to both the college community and their Parkville neighborhood, with Prof Oades coaching the Flemington Colts Junior Football Club for several years.

Jellis Craig Moonee Valley and Kensington director Simon Mason say the mansion fits the bill

an exceptional lifestyle shaped by its rare dual views over both Royal Park and Princes Park.

“Wrapped in natural light with a unique corner orientation offering uninterrupted views of the park and city, the home combines tranquility, convenience and walkability – in a way that has defined the owners’ family life for almost a decade and is the hallmark of what makes Parkville one of Victoria’s most desirable addresses,” says Mason.

Wooden floors, automatic lighting, a laundry room, extensive storage space and two garage spaces complete the package.

The mansion will be auctioned on December 11 at 6:30 PM with a range of $1.75 million to $1.85 million.
