Exciting to see four new faces in Leicester shirts when they all arrived as we told everyone earlier that evening. Spot on this time with our predictions, based on good sources who had the same feeling.
Joe Aribo, Devine Mukasa, Jamaal Lascelles and Dujuan Richards will all be exciting to follow during their time at the club. We do hope that the recruitment team has done their job well and signed players that they feel good about, and who, again, are not completely missed.
Goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland was not on any list and was not discussed as a candidate for a new goalkeeper. He would have been the perfect short-term addition. A rumor about an unlikely return for Mads Hermansen never materialized.
Ørjan Nyland is currently on the bench at Sevilla, desperate for action. He is a certainty as Norway’s number one and a player with a previous career in England. His situation at Sevilla is far from perfect and playing time will be crucial in the run-up to the World Cup. He used to be described as a “Brick wall” in that semi-final against Leicester in the EFL Cup as man of the match. Nyland (35) also played for Bournemouth, Reading and Norwich. He was previously first-choice at Sevilla and has made 58 league appearances for the La Liga club so far. Nyland has a contract with Sevilla, which expires this summer.
Jacub Stolarczyk wasn’t bad, but his mistakes and ball distribution are terrible. He often stops and has no clear idea of who to pass or throw to. A start-up has never been prepared, which is a total mismatch between the goalkeeper, his goalkeeping coach and the manager, who are not really prepared.
But again it is the goalkeeper who has to make his own decisions. This is a major concern right now. We do know that Fran Vieites is a real goalkeeper, who showed his worth last season at Real Betis in the Europa Conference League. Asmir Begovic is not someone who can be trusted as a first-team choice, so a new face would have been preferable.
Anthony Patterson (25) was another option. He was eventually loaned out to Millwall. Last season he was first choice for Sunderland as they gained promotion from the EFL Championship. There are some great goalkeepers on the benches in the Premier League and also in other countries abroad.
At this moment would have thought Fran Vieites would have been preferred. He played eight matches in the Europa Conference League for Real Betis, finishing in the final of the tournament. Vieites (26) was not involved in this match against Chelsea. Considering he’s only a third choice, it’s hard to understand why Leicester signed him.
Andy King appears to have ruled himself out of the competition for the permanent manager’s job at Leicester. This is according to Leicestershire Live and a story made today about potential candidates to fill the vacant position. We’re following the progress on who will be the next manager at Leicester, strangely enough that’s the favorite at the moment Andy King.
On the bookmakers’ list to become Leicester City’s next manager, Guus Poet is mentioned as one. Poyet (58) has had a good period at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. But since he won The Double with this club in December last year, he decided to resign from his position. He is available and a good candidate.

Andy King will be in charge when Leicester take on Birmingham in their next Premier League match, which looks concrete and certain. But hopefully something new and exciting will happen soon, with a potential new permanent manager coming in.
Lately we have seen Leicestershire Live moving more and more Leicester city items to Premium. This is behind a paywall. That’s sad.
