A former UFC light heavyweight title challenger thinks Sean Strickland is easy work for Khamzat Chimaev.
Chimaev, who will soon make the first defense of his middleweight throne, is expected to meet No. 2 contender Nassourdine Imavov next.
A few weeks ago, after Sean Strickland stopped Anthony Hernandez in round 3 at UFC Houston and made his case for a title shot, rumors flew non-stop that “Tarzan” would fight Chimaev next.
Recently, Khalil Rountree Jr., who has trained with “Borz,” gave his two cents on a possible fight between Chimaev and Strickland.
The War House first praised Chimaev’s UFC 319 performance, which saw the 31-year-old secure over 21 minutes of control time, rack up 529 total strikes, score 12 takedowns and easily cruise to a unanimous decision victory to dethrone Dricus du Plessis.
The UFC319 The main event was a one-sided affair, and Rountree Jr. believes that if Chimaev fights Strickland, the latter would share the same fate as ‘Stillknocks’. On the Jaxxon podcastRountree Jr. said:
“I see a lot of people on the internet saying things about Khamzat and him being on DDP for so long… From another perspective, it’s not like he was just lying there. I think he was just literally forcing DDP to do nothing.
When this man fights, he dominates… If you are a champion and can’t get up off the ground, there are holes in your game. I think a fight against Strickland would go about the same.

Khamzat Chimaev recently said in a response to a fan on X that he is not injured and is waiting for Sean Strickland. The Chechen-born Emiratis wrote:
