Muhammad Mokaev is still salt over his UFC release.
Despite the merging of a solid 7-0 record in the Octagon, Mokaev without Pardon was shown the door after his unanimous decision victory over Manel Kape at UFC 304 last year.
Dana White later revealed that the antics of Mokaev behind the scenes matchmakers were tired and ready to continue with the highly recommended flight weight candidate.
“So in the first place he was not released that he was simply not signed again,” White revealed during a press conference after the fight in October. “His contract went and there were many problems with him behind the scenes. And not behind the scenes. The matchmakers were done with him, they were tired of him that they no longer wanted to deal with him, so they didn’t sign.”
Initially, Mokaev wanted to release itself and even offered to fight for free in the UFC. Now ‘The Punisher’ lashes out to his former employer.
“The UFC is no longer a sport,” Mokaev told Demetrious Johnson. “In a sport you want the best athletes. I am unbeaten, but they don’t want to sign me.”
Mokaev keeps thriving outside the UFC
Mokaev has continued to win since its UFC exit. After signing at Brave CF, the Dagestani scored a first-round entry victory on Joevincent SO. He followed that with a Body-Kick Ko against Bolat Zamanbekov under the Karate combat banner in May.
His most recent outing saw him a unanimous decision against Thomas Assis in 971 Fighting Championship, which extended his undefeated record to 14-0.
