Bemidji State has announced the hiring of Jackson Keane as an assistant coach for the men’s hockey team for the coming season 2025-26.
Keane joins the Beavers after nine years of experience as a player in the junior/collegial and professional hockey landscapes and three years of coaching experience in Junior Hockey. He will mainly work with instructing the forward group of the Beavers and serves as coordinator of Coördracrting and help with all facets of players’ development.
“I am very excited to become a member of the Bemidji State Coaching Staff,” Keane said in a statement. “I have always had a lot of respect for the staff and the players who come through this program. It is built on a strong culture and hard work, and I can’t wait to get started and help it.”
“I am very happy to employ Jackson,” added Beavers -head coach Tom Serratore. “He has an excellent hockey spirit and a huge work ethics. He will hit a recruitment position and he will influence our team with his energy, enthusiasm and knowledge.”
Keane recently served as an assistant coach for the Fargo Force of the USHL from 2023 to 2025, where he worked closely with GM Cary Eades and head coach Brett Skinner on the preparation of the game day, video, practice planning and game film. He served as director of Scouting for the Force in a season 2023-24, with the Anderson Cup and Clark Cup championships Clark.
Before he worked with the Force, Keane served as an assistant coach for the Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL from 2022 to 2023 assistance in the preparation of game day, practice planning and post-game film sessions. He also helped with numerous hockey academy’s serving as an instructor on IICE.
As a player, Keane played in North Dakota from 2019 to 2021, which helped the Fighting Hawks to two Penrose Cup Championships, an NCHC title in 2021, and an NCHC All-Academic Team selection was. During his time at the Fighting Hawks, Keane appeared in 73 career matches with 14 points (five goals, nine assists) and scored three game-winning goals.
After his collegial career, Keane played professionally at the Echl’s Wheeling Nailers and Orlando Solar Bears.
Keane achieved his bachelor in communication at North Dakota in 2021.
