Former cricketer Kevin Pietersen has shared his thoughts on the Anthony Joshua vs. heavyweight boxing match. Jake Paul, which took place last weekend at the Kaseya Center in Miami and was also streamed live on Netflix.
‘The Problem Child’ did much better than what many expected as he lasted six rounds in the ring with ‘AJ’, a two-time former unified heavyweight title holder.
The YouTuber turned boxer pulled out every trick in his book to slow down and frustrate Anthony Joshua. However, in round 5, the Brit knocked Paul down twice, but the latter managed to beat the counter.
In round 6, a gassed Paul was in survival mode and was knocked down for the third time. This time, once he defeated the Count and got back on his feet, ‘AJ’ went for the kill. He knocked Paul down for the fourth and final time, which was enough to secure the TKO victory.
Jake Paul has received rave reviews from many despite his defeat. The 28-year-old picked his moments to land, got back up every time he was down, and wasn’t knocked unconscious.
But Kevin Pietersen has a different view on the fight between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.
Kevin Pietersen gives his opinion on Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul
Kevin Pietersen likened the boxing match between Joshua and Paul to being in his prime and coming across a club cricketer who believes he is better than Pietersen. On X ‘KP’ wrote:
“Anthony Joshua fighting Jake Paul is just like me in my pomp, facing a club cricketer, and the club cricketer thinks they are good enough to knock me over. Deceived and sad that it was even broadcast!”

Paul suffered a double broken jaw and had to undergo surgery after the ‘AJ’ fight. He informed fans:
“Operation went well, thank you for all the love and support. 2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have fluids only for 7 days, so no.”
