Marcus Rashford is already described on a large scale as the first English player who represents Barcelona since Gary Lineker – but that now forgets a championship regular who went to Camp Nou with a reputation like the latest midfield -won.
Marcus McGuane arrived in Spain in 2018 from Arsenal, but only performed one first team during two difficult years that mainly spent with the reserves of the La Liga Giants – who came out of the bank in a Catalan Super Cup match against Espanyol in March 2018.
The now Bristol City player, 26, suggested last season that he was too inexperienced to tackle the pressure of his great movement when he left Arsenal in January 2018. After he arrived in Spain, he had tagged a release clause of £ 25 million and was spoken as a future three Lions star.
“I feel that when I was a little younger, I had received a lot early and there were high expectations of mine and maybe I was not, I am not sure, mentally ready for everything,” McGuane said BBC Radio Bristol last season.

“I was not in the right mind frame to handle everything at certain times. I have the feeling that I have grown, I have learned my profession. I have had real difficult, difficult times in football and I feel that it makes you more grateful for everything you have and you certainly make it stronger, so that I would not change it for the world.”
The Rashford loan from Manchester United was confirmed last night with the deal of the attacker, including an option for the deal that will be made permanently next summer.
The relationship of the United head coach Ruben Amorim with Rashford went off last December when he was cut from the United First-Team team.
He was then sent on loan to Aston Villa in January and scored four goals and six assists in 17 performances. But when Villa decided to make that deal permanent in June, Rashford pointed his sights on Barca.
Barca will pay the whole of its wages after Rashford agreed to take a wage reduction of 15 percent of his £ 325,000 a week’s salary. They can also sign him for € 30 million (£ 26 million) next summer if he is doing well.
Earlier this summer, United made it clear that they would like to sell Rashford to every club that would punch £ 40 million. His contract with the club runs until June 2028, so their asking price was not outrageous, especially since they believed that he was worth £ 100 million in April 2024 when Paris Saint-Germain sniffed around.
