A delegation of foreign diplomats stationed in India is on a two-day visit to Bihar polling station to experience the election season in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on Sunday. Dr. Vijay Chauthhaiwale, in-charge of the BJP’s foreign affairs department, said in a press release that diplomats from Japan, Indonesia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Bhutan and South Africa are among the countries that have sent their diplomats to Bihar for the November 2-3 tour.
“The visit aims to familiarize the diplomats with the functioning, reach and organizational strength of the BJP, and to provide on-the-ground insight into India’s electoral involvement at the grassroots level,” Mr. Chauthhaiwale said, adding that the visit is being carried out under the “Know BJP” initiative launched by National President JP Nadda.

Mr Chauthhaiwale further said that earlier similar delegations of foreign diplomats had visited Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan during the assembly elections in those states “to experience the election management and campaign practices of the BJP.” “Know BJP” is an outreach program of the party that aims to introduce foreign diplomats and political figures to the BJP.
During the 2024 general elections, political representatives from Nepal, Australia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Israel, Uganda, Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Mauritius were invited to India under the “Know BJP” initiative to experience the party’s campaign for the general elections. The delegations also had the opportunity to meet External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during their stay in India.
