– A Lincoln and Ford windshield replacement recall covers 60,000 vehicles with windshield glass that may contain visible air bubbles.
The recall affects 2025-2026 Lincoln Corsair vehicles, 2025-2026 Lincoln Aviator and 2025-2026 Ford Explorer vehicles.
The air bubbles in the windshield can obscure vision and the problem is also a violation of federal safety standards.
According to Ford, the air bubbles may have remained in the laminate layer of the windshield, causing “snowflakes.” The location is also important because there should be no bubbles or defects extending up to 13 millimeters from the outer edge of the windshield.
In June, Ford discovered a Ford Explorer warranty claim involving air bubbles in the “acoustic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) layer of the windshield.”
Engineers determined that the same windshield supplier supplied windshields for Lincoln Aviators and Lincoln Corsairs
“Ford’s Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) team assessed the de-aeration process line and pre-adhesion oven at the supplier’s facility. This assessment identified damaged seat attachment nests used on the conveyors that hold the windshields during the de-aeration process.” — Ford
The Ford and Lincoln windshield replacement recall affects approximately 3,000 vehicles in Canada.
Windshield replacement recall notices will be sent out this month so dealers can inspect for air bubbles and replace windshields if necessary.
Lincoln and Ford owners with questions can call 866-436-7332 and refer to the windshield replacement recall number 25C60.
