Although not exactly a blockbuster movement, there was finally some action on the trade front on 4 September. The Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken exchanged their 22-year-old in-depth centers of the American Hockey League (AHL): Jon-Randall “Jr” Avon goes to Seattle, while Tucker Robertson goes to Philadelphia.

Flyers acquire Robertson
The flyers get a center that can score on the hurry and the net front. The Pick 2022 Fourth Round has shown a number of scoring upside down in his career, suggesting that he can be a capable top-six center in the AHL with further development.
In 2021–22 he led the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Peterborough Petes in goal score with 41, with 40 assists about 68 games. He improved with 90 points in 2022–23 and became the top official producer in a Peterborough team that won the OHL championship. The following season he was a Point-Per Game player in a short period in the Echl (14 points in 13 games).
Robertson was just a depth player for the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL last season and registered nine points in 38 games. The AHL branch of the flyers, the Phantoms of Lehigh Valley, can offer him more opportunities. He is in the last year of his entry -level contract.
Kraken acquires Avon
Avon, also a member of that championship-winning Petes team, is a fast, unknown center. His point scores in Peterborough were less important, with 68 points over 64 games in 2021-22 and 60 points in 59 games in 2022–23, but his professional experience is much greater.

With the Phantoms during his last two regular seasons, Avon was suitable for 125 games. His 35 points do not jump off the page, but he can immediately improve the pace of the lower six of the Firebirds.
Just like Robertson, Avon is in the last year of his entry level. If he impresses his new coaching staff, he might be able to work himself up to a top-six role in the coming seasons and ultimately emergency call area. But for now he is a nice addition to the daily AHL -Line -Up.
The flyers and Kraken gave almost the same value. However, this step can at the same time benefit their AHL clubs, so that a new face would play a similar role.
