Florida tennis dominates Delray Beach Open with victories over Korda and Krajicek – USTA Florida

It was a championship Sunday to remember for Florida tennis fans at the 2026 Delray Beach Open. Bradenton’s Sebastian Korda claimed the singles title, while doubles specialist Austin Krajicek teamed with Croatia’s Nikola Mektic to win the doubles title, giving the Sunshine State two champions at one of its biggest home events.

Korda claims singles title in dominant fashion

Sebastian Korda capped a remarkable week at the Delray Beach Open with an impressive 6-4, 6-3 victory over fellow countryman and fifth seed Tommy Paul in Sunday’s final. The victory gave Korda his third career ATP Tour title and his first since the 2024 DC Open, ending an 18-month wait for silverware.

In the steamy conditions at Delray Beach Stadium, Korda stayed strong all day. Korda earned a decisive break at 5-4 in the opening set and never looked back. When it mattered most, he showed nerves of steel. Serving for the championship, Korda fell three game points short, but he dug out of the hole and closed out the match to capture the title in front of nearly 5,000 fans.

The path to the final was just as impressive. Korda entered the tournament unseeded and ranked No. 50 in the world, but he eliminated three top-25 players during the week, including second seed Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals and third seed Flavio Cobolli in the semifinals. He only dropped one set the entire tournament.

The title comes full circle for Korda, who made his first ATP final at Delray Beach in 2021. With the victory he will rise ten places to number 40 in the world rankings. Growing up just a three-hour drive away in Bradenton, Korda embraced the energy of the home crowd all week.

Krajicek and Mektic rally to win the doubles crown

Austin Krajicek added another title to his impressive resume on Sunday, winning the doubles championship in dramatic fashion with Nikola Mektic. The second-seeded pair defeated Americans Benjamin Kittay and Ryan Seggerman 6-7, 6-3, 11-9 in a match that went down to the wire.

Krajicek and Mektic faced a championship point at 8-9 in the match tiebreak, but kept their composure, saved the point and scored the final three points to secure victory in an hour and 40 minutes. It was the first title together for the duo, who served dominantly throughout the tournament, winning 70% of their first-serve points in the final alone.

For Krajicek, a former No. 1 doubles player, 2023 French Open doubles champion and 2024 Olympic silver medalist, the Delray Beach title adds to an already decorated career. Winning on home soil in Florida made it even more special.

A Florida sweep

Two Florida players hoisting trophies on the same day at one of the state’s premier tennis events is a moment worth celebrating. Korda’s breakout singles performance and Krajicek’s doubles dominance left a mark in Florida at the 2026 Delray Beach Open and left fans across the Sunshine State with plenty to cheer about.
