Scott Laughlin: “So when it comes to Barkov and the Panthers. So from what we understand, and you can tell us more about it, so if they shut him down for the entire season, the regular season and the playoffs, they can reap the benefit of $10 million, right? And if they shut him down just for the regular season, bring him back for the playoffs. It’s 3.8 that they get, that they can play with and being able to go out and get someone.”

Elliotte Friedman: “Yeah, but it’s not that simple. Basically, to keep it simple, it’s like declare or don’t declare, right? So I think we have to prepare for the possibility that the Panthers and Barkov are going to wait to see if he can pull off a miraculous comeback.”
