Florida Athletic Director Scott Stricklin has signed an extension of three years that keeps him under contract until 2030, a person who is familiar with the deal told ESPNs Pete Thamel On Friday. Financial details were not announced.

His new deal was reached after the Gators won a national championship in men’s basketball, the third in program history and the first under Coach Todd Golden. Stricklin hired Golden in March 2022.

Stricklin previously served as athletic director of Mississippi State
Stricklin came to Florida with more than 29 years of experience in intercollegial athletics, including six as a athletic director at his Alma Mater, Mississippi State University.
The Jackson, Miss., Indigenous led more than $ 140 million in improvements to facilities while he led MSU, along with a significant increase in membership and donations of Booster Club.
The student athletes of MSU also flourished academically under the leadership of Stricklin and posted a combined 3.0 GPA in 2014-15, which marked the highest in the history of MSU.
