The San Diego Fleet Week Foundation has canceled everything Fleet Week San Diego events planned for Broadway Pier from Nov. 5 to 9, it was announced Monday.

Fleet Week will not be able to hold Broadway Pier activities because the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard cannot provide ships or equipment due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the foundation said.

The canceled events include:

  • STEM days for students November 5-7
  • Community breakfast aboard the USS Midway Museum on November 5
  • Public visit November 7-9
  • Veterans and Military Boat Parade November 8

“We are disappointed as our Sailors look forward to Fleet Week events each year, but Navy planners will begin preparations for our participation in 2026 Fleet Week as early as January,” said Navy spokesman Brian O’Rourke. “San Diego is the quintessential Navy town, and our uniformed men and women appreciate the continued support and interest they receive from the local community.”

Organizers said they have been able to continue or change several activities. The Fleet Week Football Classic on Nov. 1 will continue as scheduled at Snapdragon Stadium, the Military Family Day on Nov. 9 will be held at a different location and the Enlisted Recognition Luncheon on Nov. 21 will take place at the San Diego Zoo on a new date.

The Veterans and Military Concert, the 250th Navy & Marine Corps Birthday Celebration and the 5K Run/Family Walk are still awaiting resolution of the shutdown, according to the foundation.
