Flames Sunday Census: Sorting the Dustin Wolf Contract

Flames Sunday Census: Sorting the Dustin Wolf Contract

Craig Conroy has been the last bit of a busy general manager. He received a large company just before the training camp started, because Dustin Wolf was signed for a seven -year -old contract extension, $ 52.5 million. This is a huge expansion for the Rookie, because we have never seen such a rich long-term contract after their Rookie season to a goalkeeper.

It is clear that the Calgary Flames Wolf see for a long time as their next franchise target, but what do our readers think? Is it a fair contract? We asked, you answered.

Reader’s figure for the wolf extension

We have presented the poll below to our readers:

Grade: A

The vast majority of voters would give the extension an A mark. Conroy does something here that we have not seen much of treliving at all, and that is the locking of young and promising players for long -term deals. Wolf is exactly that and more. He dominated in every competition in which he played and was the main reason why the flames did like last year. He looked better than Jacob Markstrom once looked like a flame and Markstrom had a number of great years.

Don’t get me wrong, I know it was only one full NHL season for Wolf, but he was spectacular. One can debate whether the team should have committed so much time or so much money, but Wolf certainly deserved it.

Grade: B

About 10% of the voters gave this contract a B. Didn’t have a bad figure at all, but there are a few reasons not to be A. firstly, although Wolf was incredible last year, it was only a year. There may be worries about committing so much money and so much term after just one good season. Goal tending can be a fairly unpredictable position, and there are probably only five goalkeepers in the entire competition that can consistently have good years. Can Wolf be that guy? The flames seem to think so.

Grade C and D

Practically nobody voted for these options, and whoever did it, I assume his oilers fans. To proceed.

Wolf is the future

For the next seven years, Dustin Wolf’s net. He is now seen as the next franchise goalkeeper. Wolf is going to be part of the path of the Flames back to the position, and he seems super enthusiastic to get going.
