Tiger Woods was not with the Masters this year, but he was there in Spirit, his love for Augusta National made extra formal through an announcement with chairman Fred Ridley.
Augusta National is busy re -designing and renovating the municipal golf course of Augusta – better known as the patch and Woods was tapped as the main designer of a short race that is built on the site of the nearby first tee, which shares a border with Augusta Muni.
The course is called the loop at the patch, and the months since that announcement have pours us a lot on the site, even a smart logo, but never a look at the routing. So far.
The Instagram account of the patch has been clearly taken over by the Augusta National content team, which offers a clear sense of quality to everything they do. That is why fragments of Woods’ time on the spot, of the high -quality grasszel that was brought to the track, were even a few white sand bunkers that look a lot like that at Augusta National.
But the layout of the short jobs was expected to design, was always faded in renderings of the building, until Thursday.

Renend along Damascus Road and cornering against a runway of the local airport will be the loop at the patch nine One-shotters. Between the course and the airport, a street called Jim Dent Way will be – an ode to the Pro Golfer and Augusta -resident who died in May, one of the best black golfers ever to have formed his game at the patch.
“The patch means a lot for me because it was the first time that the city of Augusta had enough proud to put my name on a way,” Dent said in 2020. “It means a lot for me to see my name somewhere where someone a lot of you thought.”
The road will lead to a brand new clubhouse that will sit between the short track and the big job. Nearby will be a 25,000 square foot, a well green and a short area for the local first T-shirt.
The most recent Instagram post is filled with video of employees who spread the greens, all part of the process to prepare the course to open in 2026. For a better view of the clubhouse and course construction, the local photographer Katie Goodale has taken a number of photos for the Augusta Chronicle, that you can find here.
Believe that this is the first public representation for Tiger Woods designed short course at the patch in Augusta, called The Loop.
