Travis Hunter, WR JAC
2025 stats: 28 receptions on 45 targets for 298 yards and one touchdown with one carry for zero rushing yards and 11 tackles and four assists on tackles and three passes defensed.
Regular Season Rookie Report Card: N/A
Hunter was one of the most exciting players in recent memory and in the end we only got a sample size of seven games. I didn’t have as much faith in him as most people did, for the same reason people found him exciting: I had no interest in a receiver who was going to split time on defense, at least not at his price as WR1 in the class and third overall in the draft. In the seven weeks he was on the field, he was rookie 11th in scoring and was WR38 overall. That’s not what you were hoping for from the second overall pick in the NFL draft. Hunter is a dynamic playmaker and has a lot of upside, but I suspect the Jags will continue to trot him out on the defensive side of the ball and that will limit his plays on offense, capping his ceiling for fantasy purposes. The Jaguars have even openly said so expect him to play more defense in the future, making him unable to start in most weeks unless you get his defense points.
