FIFA has really outdone themselves with this decision by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Very incredible.
Although again, VERY believable when it comes to FIFA and how they handle things these days.
Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off earlier this month for violent conduct against Ireland during World Cup qualifying.
Violent behavior will result in a three-match suspension.
Cristiano Ronaldo did not play in Portugal’s final World Cup qualifier against Armenia.
However, FIFA has now suspended the second and third matches, when he should have been suspended.
So now Cristiano Ronaldo will be available to play for Portugal when they start the 2026 World Cup finals next summer…

‘Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to play for Portugal in the opening match of next summer’s World Cup final, despite his red card against Ireland.
Ronaldo, 40, was sent off for an elbow to the back of Dara O’Shea during the 2-0 qualifying defeat to Portugal earlier this month.
Violent behavior normally carries a three-match ban, but Ronaldo has suspended the second and third matches for a year.
BBC Sport understands that it was taken into account that it was his first red card in 226 international appearances.
Ronaldo played the match against Armenia on November 16 and will therefore not miss a single match in the United States next summer.
A FIFA statement said: “If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another offense of a similar nature and severity during the probationary period, the suspension set out in the disciplinary decision will be automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately.”
Ronaldo scored five goals in qualifying as Portugal won Group F to reach the World Cup for the seventh consecutive time.
The 48 teams will find out which group they are in on Friday December 5 during a draw that will be broadcast live on the BBC.’
