Toronto – Lanetrained by Josie CarrollCollected impressive to win the $ 150,000, a glimpse of deployment on the use of Saturday loaded King’s Plate card in Woodbine.
Twist of Sugar Steat to the early lead in the 6 ½ Furlong test for 2-year-old mares on the EP Taylor Turf, followed by Nacho problem, Piper’s Gift, which was supplemented with the race, and Corsia Veloce.
In anticipation of 1 ½ lengths after a quarter in: 22.67, the turn of sugar continued to control the pace and a length of advantage over the Nacho problem with a half in: 45.61. Fraser Aebly, on board Corsia Veloce, varied four wide in the bend in front of the house.
Twist of Sugar, along the rail, was dressed in an early stretch by a large number of rivals, including Corsia Veloce, who drove to the lead with less than 275 meters to the wire, while sweet merger found a seam between enemies and came up with an imminent run. Dyna, the 4-5, choice, looked to detect the leaders with a late burst outside.
At the wire, Corsia Veloce was a winner of 1 ½ length in a time of 1: 15.69 over the company. Sweet fusion became second, half a length free from Dyna. At my time was fourth.
“She broke out well,” said Ably. “I finally followed, I think, Johnny V (aboard the Nacho problem), and when we hit Lane’s head, I left her away and tried to save as much as I could, and she flew home in front of me.”
The daughter of Practical Joke Out of the City Mare Beth’s Bling arrived at the catch a glimpse of a game neck score in her debut, a 5 ½-Furlong main track sprint in Woodbine on July 6.
“She was very earlier from the start, very determined,” said Carroll. “She definitely has her own mind. And you know, you love that tenacity, even in a young horse. She can be a handful, but it seems that when we come here, she turns on her game, and that’s what you need.”
Fred (in Ontario) and owned by Glenn Sikura (Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms) and Mario Serrani, Corsia Veloce, paid $ 24.90 for the victory.
The Catch A Glimpse Stakes is named after Canada’s 2015 Horse of the Year 2015, who won that race in Woodbine before he records the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and five other graded peat stresses. Mark Casse trained the City Zip Filly for owners Gary Barber, Michael James Ambler and Windway Farm.
