An ugly scene unfolded at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night when video captured a can being thrown at members of Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s family. during Toronto’s win in Game 4.
The video, which is split into two clips, showed a can barreling toward a section of the stands where members of the player’s family were sitting.
It appeared to strike a younger member of the group in the head.
It was not clear at what point in the game — where the Blue Jays defeated the Yankees 5-2 to end the Yankees’ postseason run in the American League Division Series — the incident occurred.
It was also not clear whether anyone was removed from the stadium because of the incident.
The clip, which was first posted by social media account JJNewsshowed some of the fans looking up at the top of the segment, as the can came into view and hit the male’s head.
The younger fan tried to run up the stairs to seemingly chase after the person who threw the can, but he was stopped by people around him, and others in the section seemed angry about the situation.
At least one person who appeared to be a stadium security member or staffer was in the section and was able to prevent the situation from escalating.
Fans can be heard saying in one clip that a “little kid” was the one hit by the can.
A second clip showed that fans had tried to climb the stairs for an unclear reason before being turned back to their seats.
Fans in Yankees jerseys and apparel also booed the group in surrounding sections.
A Yankees spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.
The incident comes just weeks after New York sports fans were in the spotlight for their unruly behavior towards Rory McIlroy and Team Europe during the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black on Long Island.
The Blue Jays got the best of the Yankees, vaulting them out of the playoffs and making fun of the Bronx Bombers during their postgame celebrations.
The Blue Jays performed Frank Sinatra’s “(Theme From) New York, New York” in the clubhouse as they began their champagne celebration.
Guerrero hit .529 in the series (9-for-17) with three home runs and nine RBIs before trolling the Bombers by saying, “Daaaaaaa Yankees lose!” on the FS1 postgame show.
