A former youth star of Manchester United died after his sister had seen a ‘sudden mood change’, but was told ‘there is nothing more’ that she could have done to save him. Vinicius de Oliveira Cabral de Souza, only 19 and lovingly known as Vini, died in February.

A statement from his former club Warrington Town was loud at the time: “Scorer of the most spectacular goals, Vini was a very respected, loved member of the club, and his assets gave him a plate training with the first team despite his young age.

“He played last season for the first team in the Cheshire Senior Cup against Cheadle Town, and regularly trained with the first team and appeared in many friendships for the season in recent seasons.”

An investigation has now investigated the circumstances of his death. The court of Bolton Coroner heard that he had stopped playing football a few months before his death, with his sister, Mayara de Souza, who noticed a clear change in her brother or sister.

It was told that the 19-year-old had previously apologized to family and friends for it. Vini was ‘disappointed’ when he was fell by United at the age of 14 – although he footed for five years.

It is said that he never explained why he gave up and stopped training with Warrington Town. It was also said that he had seen his self -confidence fall after his steroid cream for acne was used up.

Speaking of her brother, Mayara de Souza said: “He stopped doing the things he liked to do like football, going to the gym and seeing friends.

“He started to apologize about the way he treated us and we did not understand what he meant. His best friend too, he said the same thing to him and he said he doesn’t know why.” She continued, “He told my father before he died,” am I going to be arrested for this? ” And [my dad] said, “What for?”

“He said:” Because of the way I am, I am arrested. “And there was an opportunity in which he saw a police car, but it was for a neighbor. He thought it was for him.”

Miss de Souza tried to help her brother, while booking a session for him with a psychotherapist he attended in January, but he refused further sessions. When she told Vini that he might have been depressed, “he laughed in her face,” she told the research.

Vini had also stopped going out with friends after he admitted his mother that he had used drugs on an occasion in a nightclub. The report of a toxicologist found no trace of drugs or alcohol in the Vini system when he died.

Vini was eventually found dead on February 20, in which the police were concluded that he had died as a result of ‘self -inflicted resources by hanging on’.

Assistant coroner Stephen Teesdale was satisfied with that cause. He addressed his family and said: “There is nothing more that you could have done. You did everything. You saw the problem – depression. You made a plan, you were looking for professional help from a psychotherapist.

“You had a plan to take him to Brazil. There is nothing more you could have done. He had a fully supporting family. It had to do with how he saw the world.”
