Free Agent Vooruit Evgeny Kuznetsov could approach for an NHL refund. After weeks of speculation, his agent Shumi Babaev confirmed Mikhail Nyukhin from Sport Daily That the VeterenAbcentrum has its options limited to two teams.
Although he has not revealed which clubs are in the mix, both are reportedly working on freeing salary capace to close a deal. One thing we know is that the Washington Capitals are not interested in bringing back Kuznetsov and have denied the Montreal Canadiens (where he wanted) interest.
Now 33, Kuznetsov has not played in the NHL since the 2023–24 season. That year started with the Washington Capitals for a Stint in the player tool and an exchange to the Carolina Hurricanes. He managed 13 points in 30 total matches with Carolina, including the play -offs, before he ended the last year of his contract to go to Russia.
Kuznetsov signed a four -year -old deal with SKA St. Petersburg in 2024, but after a strong campaign of 39 games, both parties came in in April to separate. Instead of continuing another KHL contract, he shifted his focus back to North America.
With 575 career-NHL points on 743 matches, he wants to continue a team before the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Details about what is decided must follow in the coming days.
