In an interview with RabbinallyPaul Forebaum revealed that he is considering a potential run as a Republican in Alabama to fill the chair of the American Senate that is expected to be left by Senator Tommy Tuberville
As the gateway expert reported earlier, Tuberville will soon leave his seat while he is running to become Alabama’s next governor.
Forebaum stated: “One or two people in Washington had contacted me if I would be interested in politics, something I had never thought of. Something I didn’t really think of.”
He then shared, Charlie Kirk’s tragic murder made him consider taking the jump from the sports world to the political arena and for the first time revealed that he is a supporter of President Trump.

Per ESPN:
SEC Network -guest paul Finebaum said on Monday that he would consider leaving ESPN to run to the American Senate, who represents Alabama.
The 70-year-old Evebaum said during a recent interview with Outkick that he would run as a Republican to fill the chair that was abandoned by former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville, who said that he will run for Alabama Governeur in the 2026 elections.
The qualifying deadline for the Senate is January 26, 2026. Finebaum said that he would probably have to leave his hosting and analysts if he decided to run. He told Outkick that he would make a decision within 30-45 days.
Forebaum said he had not seriously considered politics, but the murder of Charlie Kirk was the impulse to give a run to politics. He noted that he had received a “text” from “one or two people in Washington” who measure his interest in politics.
In the interview, Evebaum noted that he was initially not considering the office after rumors had arisen the men’s basketball head coach Bruce Pearl of Auburn, who was a vocal supporter for President Trump, considered a run.
However, after Pearl had announced that he is not considering running before the FiveBaum office, started to think about a more serious run.
If Finebaum finally announces an offer, he will have announced a competitive primary opposite the Republican representative Barry Moore (Al-01) and Alabama-Procureur-General Steve Marshall who have already announced their bid at the Tuberville seat.
