Errors cost the red again in a 6-3 loss for the Dodgers – Redleg Nation

The Cincinnati Reds do not seem to beat themselves and on Tuesday evening in Los Angeles they got back on their own way. A miss in the 6th inning led to a 4-run inning for the deadgers who actually brought the game out of reach and the home team took a second victory in a row over Cincinnati.

The Reds did not waste much time taking an early lead. Spencer Steer led the game with a double and came in to score on a groundout from Miguel Andujar. However, Cincinnati’s lead did not last long. After Mookie Betts walked, Freddie Freeman doubled in shallow left. Betts went 1st-to-3rd, but when Austin Hays tried to throw the ball to the second, it went well past the bag and Betts easily scored on the mistake of binding the game.

That is where the score remained until the second half of the 4th inning when a leadoff-double from Teoscar Hernandez led to a run on a sacrifice to make the deadgers 2-1. The Reds would go quietly in the 5th and also Los Angeles.

It was the 6th inning that was the turning point in the game. Matt McLain and Spencer Steer had back-to-back singles to start the inning. That brought Noelvi Marte to the plate, which has recently torn the lid of the ball. He tried to bump on the first throw he saw and popped up to the pitcher, who was able to turn and throw a strike to have the second to double McLain. A shallow fly to the left field would end the Roden half of the inning.

Will Smith led from the bottom of the inning with a home run by Nick Martinez to extend the Dodgers lead to 3-1. After he had received a land, Martinez would give a double to Andy pages. That was the last Slagman he met when Cincinnati went to the Bullpen to bring in Brent Ster. He would get a grounder for a force on third base before giving up a single. Miguel Rojas broke a flight ball to the warning track in the middle, but Noelvi Marte, who made his first start in midfield in his life, was turned around and invaded the ball for a 2-run double. Shohei Ohtani followed with a single to close a 4-run inning that made the score at 6-1.

The Reds would get two of those runs back in the 7th when Austin Hays followed a lead-off walk from Miguel Andujar with a 2-run home run. The next three batters of Cincinnati – two of them squeeze Hitters – would spread. In the 8th inning they would get a single from Marte, but he would be stranded at first base. During the 9th inning it was more that because they got a single from Hays, but saw the game ending in a doubles while the Dodgers held up for a 6-3 victory.

Important moment of the game

Noelvi Marte’s Non-Catch in the 6th inning, which would have terminated the inning, and led to four runs instead.

Notes worth mentioning

Noelvi Marte has never come a bump since he joined the Cincinnati Reds organization. Not like a small League. Not as a big league. Do what you want with that information.

The top five batters in the Reds-Line-Up went 6-19 with a walk. The lower four batters went 1-13 without hiking.

Cincinnati was only accused of one mistake, but they played a sloppy game. Marte is turned on a ball that every midfielder in baseball catches was not a mistake because he did not touch the ball. Matt McLain is doubled on a pop -up bunt in which he did not ran on the field. Maybe the Dodgers still win, but the Reds certainly helped them a lot.

The Mets won a walk-off victory and left the Reds 3.5 matches in the last Wild Card place.
