West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the appointment of former Manchester United coach Eric Ramsay as manager.
Ramsay gets a new role
A report from The Peoples Person earlier this month stated that Ramsay was in talks with Brentford over the possibility of replacing Ryan Mason, who was sacked after a string of poor performances and results.
Now the Baggies have done just that confirmed that Ramsay has officially taken control of the team. Ramsay has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract with West Brom.
He is joined in the dugout by his right-hand man at Minnesota United, Dennis Lawrence.
West Brom chairman Shilen Patel said of Ramsay: “Throughout our recruitment process, Eric consistently demonstrated the qualities to lead and succeed in the world’s most demanding football environment.”
“During his time as Head Coach, his teams have been characterized by intensity, organization and adaptability – all crucial to the continued success and growth we envision in the short and long term.”

Ramsay has considerable experience
Despite being only 34, Ramsay already has a lot of experience in coaching and management.
The Welshman joined United in July 2021, leaving his role in Chelsea’s youth academy to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom staff at Old Trafford.
A highly regarded tactician, Ramsay also played for Swansea, Shrewsbury and the Wales national team.
He parted ways with United in March 2024 to become boss of Major League Soccer team Minnesota United. Under his leadership, Minnesota went to the playoffs. He had some fantastic moments at the club, including beating Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami 4-1 last May.
He helped the Red Devils win the EFL Cup in 2023 and reach the FA Cup final, where they lost to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Ramsay’s first assignment will see him and West Brom take on Middlesbrough on Friday evening.
